Fox’s Best Medicine Sets Release Window With an Increased Season Order

Fox has announced positive updates for its upcoming 2026-2027 season, with several shows set to return.

This new medical comedy-drama, ideal for those who enjoy shows like House M.D., launched in January and received positive feedback. With the first season ending on March 10th, viewers were happy to learn that they won’t have to wait until next January for the show’s return.

Best Medicine Season 1 Was a Hit

The new medical series will debut this fall and air on Tuesdays alongside the show Doc, creating what Fox’s scheduling chief, Dan Harrison, described as “a night of medical marvels.”

Harrison announced that the second season of Best Medicine will be longer than the first. While Season 1 had a relatively high 12 episodes, the network is clearly confident in the show and has ordered 14 episodes for Season 2.

Combining the shows Doc and Best Medicine proved successful for Fox. Viewership across all platforms rose by 51% in 2027 compared to the previous year, increasing from 3.7 million to 5.6 million viewers within a week.

Fox has announced its upcoming TV schedule, including two new dramas: a reimagining of Baywatch and a series called The Interrogator. They’ve cancelled just one comedy show recently. The medical comedy Best Medicine has proven popular, attracting 15 million viewers across different platforms after its debut.
