I’m really excited about Motor City! It’s directed by Potsy Ponciroli, who did a fantastic job with Old Henry and the upcoming Greedy People. The script is by Chad St. John, who also wrote London Has Fallen, so you know it’s going to be packed with action. Judging by the trailer, this movie looks like it’s going to be just as thrilling and explosive as everything else the director and writer have done, and it’s another great role for Jack Ritchson – he’s becoming a real action star!
Early reviews for Motor City from the Venice Film Festival are generally positive. Currently, the film has a 70% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 23 reviews. Most critics loved the film’s fast-paced action and realistic style, comparing it to a classic 1970s action movie with a contemporary feel. While a few reviewers had issues with the action or the film’s unique elements, most praise it for its strengths.
This movie adds to Alan Ritchson’s growing list of action roles, including his popular series Reacher which will return for a fourth season. He recently starred in the Netflix thriller War Machine, which critics enjoyed, and has appeared in other action films like Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024) and the upcoming Playdate (2025) with Kevin James. His newest film promises an intense and thrilling revenge story, showcasing his unique approach to justice.
Motor City looks set to give Ritchson a role that feels both comfortable and powerful, and the film is expected to be packed with exciting action scenes. The story of revenge is also likely to be gripping, as the main character faces a dangerous mission that could cost him everything.
