A popular action thriller on Netflix recently released its second season and quickly became one of the platform’s most-watched shows. The series is full of exciting action, but what really makes the new season stand out is the surprising casting of a famous K-pop star as the main villain.
The second season of Bloodhounds, a popular K-drama on Netflix, continues the story of Kim Gun-woo (Woo Do-hwan) and Hong Woo-jin (Lee Sang-yi). After defeating their main enemy in season one, this season introduces a new villain named Im Baek-jeong. Bloodhounds has been a top non-English language show on Netflix for the past month.
K-pop star Rain (Jung Ji-hoon), known for his successful music career, plays Im Baek-jeong in Bloodhounds. However, in season 2, he’s almost unrecognisable as the villain. He flawlessly embodies the character’s cruelty, particularly in the show’s intense action sequences, and delivers his lines with such power that he completely transforms into the role.
Rain’s Terrifying Portrayal Of Bloodhounds Season 2’s Villain Is A Reminder Of His Forgotten Hollywood Role
Rain is incredibly convincing and frightening as Baek-jeong, the villain in season 2 of Bloodhounds. He expertly portrays a character with no empathy, and convincingly shows Baek-jeong’s overwhelming power in action sequences. Watching Rain in Bloodhounds brings to mind his performance in the Hollywood action film, Ninja Assassin.
Although critics weren’t impressed, the movie did reasonably well at the box office. It stars Rain as a former ninja who distances himself from the orphanage where he grew up. Rain’s character, Raizo, in Ninja Assassin, isn’t quite a hero, but he shares a similar quiet strength with his role as Baek-jeong in Bloodhounds.
Okay, so both of these fighters are incredibly powerful, there’s no denying that. But Bark-jeong? He’s on another level. He just feels more dangerous. His fighting style is relentlessly aggressive, and honestly, he doesn’t pull any punches – he’s completely merciless when he’s battling his opponents. It really makes a difference in how you perceive the fight.
The second season of Bloodhounds has become a hit on Netflix thanks to several things, notably its exciting and well-planned action scenes and the way the tension steadily builds. The lead actors, Woo Do-hwan as Kim Gun-woo and Lee Sang-yi as Hong Woo-jin, also deliver strong performances, skillfully handling all the action.
Rain also deserves a lot of praise for the show’s success. He plays the villain with a convincingly unsettling realism, avoiding over-the-top performance and making the character truly frightening. His work in the second season especially makes the new episodes feel much more intense and impactful than the first.
Rain Must Return In Bloodhounds Season 3
The ending of Bloodhounds season 2 makes it seem like Baek-jeong has died, but a surprise scene after the credits reveals that he actually faked his death. It turns out even more powerful enemies were behind it, and they want him to work for them. This means that if Bloodhounds gets a third season, Rain’s character could return.
With Rain’s character taking center stage as the main villain in Bloodhounds season 2, fans are eager to see how his abilities evolve in season 3. Another exciting possibility is a rematch between Baek-jeong and Geon-woo. Having each won one fight against the other, a third showdown would definitively settle who is the stronger fighter.
Although Netflix hasn’t officially announced whether Bloodhounds will return for a third season, many believe it likely will. The show has been very popular and successful, and the way season 2 ended suggests the creators want to continue the story.
Hopefully, Bloodhounds season 3 will happen soon on Netflix and mark Rain’s return as Baek-jeong.
