As a huge DC fan, I was so excited to see the first glimpse of the logo for James Gunn’s Superman: Man of Tomorrow! It’s really cool because it features both Superman and the movie’s villain, Brainiac. It looks like we’ll be seeing this one in 2027, and I’m thrilled David Corenswet is back as Superman. Plus, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and Lars Eidinger as Brainiac? That’s a fantastic cast! I can’t wait to see what Gunn has in store.
James Gunn recently shared the first photo from the set of Man of Tomorrow on social media. The post confirmed that filming has started and also offered a sneak peek at the movie’s new logo, which was visible on a clapboard in the background.

A photo of a prop from the upcoming Man of Tomorrow film reveals a logo that cleverly merges Superman’s classic “S” shield with the three-pointed symbol of Brainiac.

The result is a striking new logo that combines the emblems of two of DC’s greatest characters.

For the 2025 Superman movie, the iconic ‘S’ shield was subtly updated. While keeping the classic red and gold colors, the design now features a crisper, more defined edge. This revised symbol is also used in the new logo for the Man of Tomorrow storyline, pairing Superman with Brainiac.

Brainiac is a super-smart alien robot from the planet Colu in DC Comics. He travels the galaxy, conquering planets and collecting them as part of his endless quest for knowledge. The character has appeared in live-action DC shows like Smallville, Krypton, and Superman & Lois.

Brainiac’s three-pronged logo has seen several iterations throughout the character’s history.
In the DC Animated Universe, Brainiac has been seen bearing this symbol on his forehead.

Brainiac made an appearance in the animated Harley Quinn show, sporting a three-pointed, triangular logo on his chest.

In the comics, the three-orb symbol associated with Brainiac appears in various ways, sometimes even as a triangular design on the villain’s costume.

The appearance of the Brainiac symbol in the Man of Tomorrow logo strongly suggests that the character played by Eidinger will feature the same emblem in the movie. However, we haven’t seen the complete look of the villain yet.
The movie Man of Tomorrow is set to come out on July 9, 2027. David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, and Michael Eidinger star alongside Rachel Brosnahan, Isabela Merced, Aaron Pierre, and Adria Arjona.
Man of Tomorrow’s First Logo Sets up an Exciting Villain

The initial logo for Man of Tomorrow subtly foreshadows the central conflict of the Superman sequel: a major showdown between Superman and Brainiac, as it combines imagery from both of their symbols.
Early logos for Superman films simply showcased the iconic ‘S’ shield. However, the logo for the upcoming sequel highlights the conflict between Superman and his enemy. It’s unusual for a DC Studios movie logo to include anything beyond the hero’s symbol, so by featuring both Superman and Brainiac, it strongly suggests Brainiac will be a major, powerful adversary.
As a huge Superman fan, I’m really excited about the next film! It looks like Brainiac is going to be a seriously terrifying villain – the kind of threat that actually forces Superman to do the unthinkable and team up with Lex Luthor. Considering how much those two hate each other – Luthor was just thrown in jail at the end of the last movie after Superman stopped his evil scheme – Brainiac must be unbelievably powerful to make them put aside their rivalry and work together to save the world. It’s going to be epic!
Brainiac is incredibly powerful both physically and mentally, making him a true match for both Superman’s strength and Lex Luthor’s intellect. This unique combination establishes him as the ideal enemy for both heroes, and his appearance in the Man of Tomorrow logo suggests he’ll be a major threat in the new DC Universe.
