Be warned, this article reveals major plot points from Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 5! The latest episode of Daredevil: Born Again may have hinted at the return of a popular character from the old Netflix Marvel shows. Charlie Cox reprised his role as Daredevil first, and Vincent D’Onofrio followed as Kingpin, representing the villainous side of that universe. When Netflix canceled The Defenders Saga, many thought those characters were gone for good.
Luckily, Cox and D’Onofrio have improved every Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) TV show and movie they’ve been in since reprising their roles. Because of this, Daredevil: Born Again is now the most anticipated project for fans who enjoyed the earlier Netflix Marvel shows. The Disney+ series has brought back many familiar faces from that period, including Jon Bernthal as the Punisher.
Wilson Bethel returned as Bullseye, the main villain from Daredevil season 3, in Daredevil: Born Again season 1. Though he only appeared briefly, Bullseye had a huge impact, permanently changing the series and Matt Murdock’s life when he killed Foggy Nelson.
Surprisingly, Foggy is the reason Bullseye hasn’t died in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the fifth episode of Daredevil: Born Again, Matt struggles with whether to let Bullseye pay for his actions by letting him die, but ultimately decides to save him, remembering what his friend Foggy would have wanted. This moment also hinted at the possible return of characters from the old Netflix Daredevil series.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Might Have Quietly Teased Another Netflix Return
Daredevil comforts the injured Bullseye by mentioning he knows someone who can provide medical assistance – a nurse. Considering past characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this likely refers to Claire Temple, played by Rosario Dawson.
Now that Daredevil is a fugitive and Bullseye—who recently killed Mayor Fisk’s wife—needs medical attention, Claire Temple seems like the perfect choice to treat him. She’s cared for Matt Murdock’s injuries before, and with Krysten Ritter reprising her role as Jessica Jones in season two, Claire’s return could happen alongside hers.
Why Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple Returning To The MCU Would Make Sense
Besides Jessica Jones, who will definitely show up later in season 2, all of the Defenders are returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Photos from the set of Daredevil: Born Again proved this, clearly showing actors Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones dressed as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, respectively.
Now that Marvel seems to be using characters from its old Netflix shows for its future series, bringing back Claire Temple would make a lot of sense. She previously connected Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, and could support the Defenders team as they help Matt Murdock (Daredevil) face the challenges in the upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again.
