A source familiar with industry news, @MyTimeToShineH, posted a screenshot of a conversation between Colter and Henwick, adding reaction emojis to highlight the exchange.
Social media user @jama_thegoattt believes Jessica Henwick is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This speculation stems from her previous comments to The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, where she mentioned leaving the audition for a different role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings with the hope of potentially reprising her role as Colleen Wing. Meng’er Zhang ultimately played Xu Xialing in the film, but Henwick’s return would mean she’s been waiting five years for another chance.
Actress Jessica Henwick explained that taking on the role of Shang-Chi would likely mean her character, Colleen Wing, would be written out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While not the sole reason for her decision, it was something she discussed at the time. She expressed her fondness for Colleen, saying the character was very important to her, and that she’d be happy to reprise the role if given the chance.
