Netflix has a lot of exciting action thrillers, but this South Korean series, released in 2023, is one of their most captivating. South Korea is quickly becoming a major force in entertainment, delivering hits like Squid Game and the popular zombie series All of Us Are Dead.
Okay, so if you’re into South Korean shows on Netflix, there’s more than just the big hits. I recently stumbled upon a series that totally reminded me of Cobra Kai – if you loved that Karate Kid spinoff, you have to check this out. It’s called Bloodhounds, and it’s a crime drama about a young boxer who’s really chasing that big break. It’s seriously good!
Bloodhounds Is A Perfect Binge-Worthy Netflix Action Thriller
Kim Gun-woo, played by Woo Do-hwan, is a kind-hearted ex-Marine who wants to use his boxing skills to help his mother out of financial hardship. But when a ruthless loan shark named Kim Myeong-gil, portrayed by Park Sung-woong, exploits his mother with a predatory loan, Gun-woo is forced to team up with another troubled former Marine, Hong Woo-jin, to set things right.
In season 1 of Bloodhounds, Kim Gun-woo and Hong Woo-jin, both skilled ex-Marines, team up to expose Smile Capital. This company appears to be a normal payday lender, but it’s actually running an illegal loan operation—the same one that caused problems for Gun-woo’s mother. Together, they fight through the city’s criminal network to bring the corporation down.
Bloodhounds Season 2 Made The Netflix Hit Even Better
Season 2 of Bloodhounds builds on the exciting first season, delivering an even more gripping crime drama. While the initial season featured a variety of dangerous criminals, the new season focuses on Kim Gun-woo and Hong Woo-jin taking down a criminal organization that operates an illegal boxing ring, adding a thrilling new layer to the story.
