People who know Josh Krasinski from The Office might be surprised he could carry a show like this. But he actually makes it look easy. John Krasinski’s portrayal of Jack Ryan feels more realistic and relatable than previous versions played by actors like Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, Chris Pine, and Alec Baldwin. He’s even a bit awkward when trying to flirt! The series begins with Jack working as a financial analyst for the CIA, focusing on tracking terrorist financing and weapons. However, a sudden turn of events quickly moves him from an office job into dangerous field work. Unlike some action heroes, he doesn’t always appear physically imposing, and he consistently keeps viewers guessing.

The series Jack Ryan delivers four seasons of realistic, suspenseful storytelling. The first season centers around a terrorist plot to unleash a biological attack in the United States. Season two features a ruthless Venezuelan president who aligns with American adversaries and commits a shocking murder within his own palace. While a spin-off series starring Michael Peña was once planned, it has unfortunately been cancelled.

Right now, we should appreciate what we have.
