As parents, we often dream of perfect holidays – cozy matching pajamas, a mountain of gifts, and everyone smiling for photos. But the reality is usually a bit different. Even someone like Kim Kardashian has experienced this – she used to spend over a million dollars on elaborate parties, but now she struggles to even get her kids to cooperate for a simple picture.
Kim Kardashian shared her hilariously relatable attempt to get North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm to smile for the camera. Kim was decked out in all brown — a fur coat covering what appeared to be a leather corset, complete with leggings and knee-high thong sandals — with her hair pulled back in a tight bun and sunglasses to complete the look. “I really tried,” she wrote on her Instagram post that showed her fruitless efforts:

We almost didn’t realize 12-year-old North West was present except for a final slide showing her lip-syncing with her mom to the song “Thx.” A brief glimpse of blue hair in a photo earlier in the sequence also hinted at her presence.
Kim Kardashian was hoping for a sweet photo with her three youngest children, but it was a little tricky to get everyone to cooperate. Ten-year-old Saint was restless and kept moving, and six-year-old Psalm started making silly faces. Luckily, seven-year-old Chicago was happy to snuggle close to her mom for the picture!
Now Flash Back to Kimye’s 2018 Christmas Party
This year’s Kardashian Christmas is a lot different than it used to be. While Kim Kardashian always celebrates lavishly, with lots of decorations and entertainment, seven years ago she and Kanye West really went above and beyond. They turned their California home into a spectacular winter scene for the family’s big Christmas party.
Florist Ashley Greer told People magazine approximately how much Kim Kardashian and Kanye West spent on their wedding, including details on various costs.
- $350,000: Fake snow to cover one acre of the three-acre property (including installation and removal)
- $200,000: Installation of Australian artist Kathy Temin’s “My Monument: White Forest,” which included 20 sculptures
- $80,000-$100,000: Food and beverages
- $80,000: Lighting for special cloud fixtures, the interior of the tents and the sledding hill.
- $50,000: Price per tent with dance floors, of which there were several
- $35,000: 200 tons of ice chopped into snow for a sledding hill
- $30,000: Furniture and prop rental
And that doesn’t include the cost of John Legend’s performance, as he’s a family friend and probably performed for free or at a very reduced rate.
It’s funny to imagine if Kim Kardashian ever remembers that incident when she has to throw away her Christmas cards because North was flipping everyone off in all the pictures.
The final episode of The Kardashians Season 7 will be available on Hulu on Christmas Day, offering viewers another look at the family’s adventures.
