As you travel, you come across the leftovers of that war – broken weapons and stuff – and you have to deal with them as you explore.

This game is a very straightforward adventure. Players explore a desert landscape, collecting items that reveal the story of the world. To keep things interesting, they can also fly for short bursts, giving them a better view of their surroundings.

While it might not be flashy, Journey’s simple approach is a welcome change from big-budget games like The Last of Us. It’s surprisingly engaging, offering a lot of depth despite its minimalist design, and it’s just as much about connecting with other players as it is about following a story.

Demon’s Souls is an Action RPG That Began a Legendary Franchise

Okay, so in Demon’s Souls, I’m basically playing as someone who has to fix the mess their ancestors made. The kingdom of Boletaria used to be awesome, a really thriving place, but now it’s totally overrun with demons. And these aren’t just any demons – they’re threatening to spread chaos everywhere, so I’ve gotta stop them and set things right.

This RPG has a bit of a learning curve. While some enemies are manageable, many are massive and quite intimidating.

While challenging, this game deserves to be available on more than just the PS3. As players overcome difficult bosses and improve their characters, the game becomes increasingly rewarding, making later battles feel much more manageable and creating a great sense of accomplishment.

Valkyria Chronicles Has a Fun Alternate WW2 Setting

Valkyria Chronicles takes place in a world inspired by World War II. The country of Gallia has a lot of a valuable resource called Ragnite, which is running out elsewhere. This attracts the attention of the East Europan Imperial Alliance, who invade Gallia. Now, Gallia must fight to defend itself and deal with problems arising from within its own borders.

The game challenges players to maximize the initial strengths of their units. Through skillful actions and winning battles, they can gradually improve their stats. Beyond its engaging story and gameplay, the game’s core idea – conflicts arising from limited resources – remains relevant, highlighting how easily the world could descend into crisis due to scarcity.

Uncharted 2 Made Nathan Drake a Household Name

Following his adventures in the Anson Archipelago, Nathan Drake heads to Nepal in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. There, he’s tasked with finding the legendary Cintamani Stone and the lost city of Shambhala. However, his old friend, Harry Flynn, is also after these treasures, and is working with the dangerous war criminal Zoran Lazarević.

This action-packed game lets you play as Drake, who battles enemies from a third-person perspective. He and his team must sneak around the forces of Lazarević. Drake is a skilled fighter who can carry two guns at a time and collect weapons and ammo from defeated enemies or throughout the game world. As a treasure hunter, he can also discover valuable artifacts hidden in various locations.

Considering Naughty Dog, the creators of The Last of Us, also made this game, it’s not surprising how good it is. Uncharted 2 was a real innovator, especially with its realistic character movements thanks to motion capture. In fact, many games that came out later, including The Last of Us, borrowed ideas from it.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is the Most Cinematic PS3 Game

In Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, an aging Solid Snake, now called Old Snake, learns he doesn’t have much time left to live. Determined to finish his rivalry, he sets out to finally defeat Liquid Snake, who is attempting to control all private military companies. Liquid plans to achieve this by taking over the ‘Guns of the Patriots,’ an artificial intelligence system that manages these organizations.

Even though Solid Snake is getting older, the core gameplay of Metal Gear Solid remains exciting. Like before, players must carefully sneak past enemies loyal to Liquid and avoid detection. If spotted, Snake needs to eliminate threats quickly to prevent reinforcements from being called.

Rather than simply a good game, Metal Gear Solid 4 is considered one of the very best on the PlayStation 3. For a long time, it set the standard for what the system was capable of, until The Last of Us arrived. With its complex gameplay and a story that builds to a thrilling climax, Metal Gear Solid 4 provided a satisfying conclusion to a legendary series.
