Since its release, 007 First Light has been widely praised for its faithful characters and innovative gameplay, revitalizing the classic spy thriller genre. While the exciting action sequences have driven the game’s high scores, some players have been particularly impressed by a subtle but noteworthy element of its worldwide adventure.
The combat in First Light is very different from IO Interactive’s earlier games, but it still feels true to the studio’s style. After creating the acclaimed HITMAN reboot trilogy, fans know IO Interactive excels at building detailed and believable environments for players to explore.
Since its release, many players have praised the creative design of First Light. On X (formerly Twitter), farzam_plays specifically pointed out how well-done the club mission is, comparing it favorably to a similar mission in Hitman, stating that the developers “nailed it” in both games.
The Berlin nightclub mission in Hitman: World of Assassination is widely considered a standout level in gaming, known for its incredible atmosphere. It’s great to see First Light, the new Bond game, come anywhere near matching that level of immersive detail.
Many players are impressed with the club level in First Light, with some saying it’s even better than anything IO Interactive has done before. They especially praise the realistic lighting, calling it some of the best they’ve ever seen in a video game, and noting the improved visual quality compared to previous Hitman games.
Despite the impressive lighting, sound, and interactive characters, it’s difficult to make a direct comparison between the levels because they’re so different in scale. HITMAN levels are typically much larger and more detailed – almost like open-world sandboxes.
Okay, so First Light might not have the same huge, detailed levels as something like the Berlin mission in HITMAN, but honestly, it totally gets the vibe of being in a really cool, busy nightclub. A lot of other players have said it would actually fit right into a John Wick movie – it feels that realistic and intense!
Even if you forget IO Interactive’s previous games, the difference between First Light and older titles like Goldeneye 007 is striking. The static dancers in those games, especially on the Wii, seem incredibly basic compared to the lively, moving characters in First Light.
IO Interactive has said the next HITMAN game will come out after their 007 First Light project. If so, we’re really hoping they include another nightclub level – one that’s even more ambitious and detailed than anything they’ve created before.
