A brief trailer has been released for the new A24 film, The Drama, featuring actors known from Challengers and The Batman. The movie, directed by Kristoffer Borgli, reportedly follows a couple whose relationship is strained just before their wedding as they uncover hidden secrets about each other.
I’m so excited for The Drama to come out on April 3, 2026! The cast is incredible, with Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, and Hailey Gates joining them. I just saw the teaser, and it’s really intriguing. It centers around Charlie, played by Pattinson, and Zendaya’s Emma, and it’s clear from a photoshoot scene that things aren’t easy between them. The photographer is really pushing them to express their affection and even trying to get Charlie to genuinely smile, but it feels so forced and uncomfortable to watch.
The film intercuts scenes of Charlie and Emma’s wedding photos – she looks upset, and he looks guilty – with glimpses of a generally chaotic and stressful wedding day. However, A24’s marketing campaign leans into the drama with a playfully ironic tone, jokingly inviting audiences to “the wedding of the year” and promising plenty of excitement.
