Zendaya & Robert Pattinson’s The Drama Reveals First Teaser Trailer

Robert Pattinson and others are currently two of the most in-demand actors working today. Despite taking some time, Hollywood finally brought them together for a project – and not just once, but three times!

The group’s first project is a new romantic comedy called The Drama. They’re working with A24 on the film, which will be the first of several projects they plan to release next year. To get fans excited, A24 recently released a short teaser trailer and the first official poster for The Drama.

The trailer begins with Emma (Zendaya) and Charlie (Robert Pattinson) at a photoshoot for their engagement pictures. But it’s clear they’re not a typical loving couple – they avoid getting close. The video jumps between happy memories and the present day, hinting that something significant happened in the past.

The description of the show, The Drama, hints that trouble is brewing. It says a couple, excited to get married, faces unexpected problems that threaten to ruin their wedding week.

Like many films from A24, this movie relies on building suspense and doesn’t show all its cards at once.

In addition to Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, the romantic comedy features Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, and Hailey Gates. Kristoffer Borgli, who directed ‘Dream Scenario,’ also wrote and directed this film. Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone served as producers.

As a film buff, I thought it was a really clever marketing move when the actors staged a fake engagement story in The Boston Globe to drum up buzz for the movie. Everyone knows Zendaya and Tom Holland are a couple in real life, and Robert Pattinson is with Suki Waterhouse, they even have a daughter together! But the genius part was that the fake engagement announcement used their character names from the film, seamlessly tying the publicity stunt back to the story itself.

A newspaper announcement shared details about Zendaya’s character, Emma Harwood, and her family. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Harwood of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, paid for the announcement to appear in the paper. The announcement also mentioned that Mr. Harwood is a veteran who served with distinction. Emma graduated from Portside High School in 2013 and earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston University in 2017. She currently works at a bookstore named Mission Books.

Robert Pattinson plays Charlie, who is the son of Alan and Mrs. Thompson from London. He graduated from Eaton College in 2004 and currently works as the director of the Cambridge Art Museum – a role created for the story.

Robert Pattinson & Zendaya Will Reunite on Two More Projects

As we’ve already discussed, The Drama isn’t the only movie Robert Pattinson and Zendaya are making together. While it’s their only film where they play love interests, they’re also scheduled to work on two other notable projects.

Following their work on The Drama, Robert Pattinson and Zendaya will appear together again in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming historical film, The Odyssey. The movie, which is scheduled to be released on July 17, 2026, features Zendaya as Athena, the goddess of wisdom, war, and crafts, and Pattinson as Antinous, a suitor of Penelope.

Zendaya will return as Chani in Dune: Part Three, scheduled to be released on December 18, 2026. Robert Pattinson is also joining the Dune series, though his specific role hasn’t been officially announced.

The Drama premieres in theaters on Apr. 3, 2026.
