Zelda: Breath Of The Wild PC “Remaster” Isn’t What Fans Want

The Legend of Zelda is turning 40! Over the past four decades, this beloved game series has provided fans with some truly unforgettable experiences and has become a gaming icon.

Everyone tends to have a favorite Legend of Zelda game based on which one they played when they were younger. Whether it’s Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, or another great title in the series, timing often plays a big role in what resonates most with people.

Most people agree that Breath of the Wild kicked off a fantastic period for open-world games, and Tears of the Kingdom continued that success. However, these games are currently only officially available on the Nintendo Switch. While some talented developers have managed to get the first game working on PC, fans haven’t been happy with the results.

Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Running On PC Just Isn’t It

A user named VideoArtGame posted a video on Twitter (now X) showing Breath of the Wild running on a PC, and the reaction from fans was largely negative.

“Insanely bad. Completely ruined the art direction with overly post processing,” one post read.

One person noted that the PC version of Breath of the Wild looks fantastic, if your computer is powerful enough to handle it, jokingly comparing its graphics to those on the Switch 2.

One player complained that the game’s updated visuals, with new shaders and higher resolution, significantly worsened its art style and caused performance issues on their phone.

A PC version of the game, with Nintendo’s support, could be amazing. However, the Switch 2 version is already excellent, so we’re happy with it for now.

Zelda’s 40th Anniversary Could Be Huge For The Series

Fans worldwide can expect a major celebration for the 40th anniversary! We’re likely to see a detailed preview of the new movie, plus possibly more classic games added to the Nintendo Switch Online service. Nintendo will also probably share a Direct presentation outlining their plans for the next year or two.

There’s a good chance the upcoming announcements will include a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, or perhaps even versions of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess for modern systems. For now, we can remain optimistic about what Nintendo has in store.
