Zack Snyder Drops Never-Before-Seen Image of Henry Cavill’s Superman

It’s been almost two years since the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) concluded its ten-year run at Warner Bros. Zack Snyder launched this big-screen Justice League world with the 2013 film Man of Steel, and even though the series is finished, the director often shares memories from it on social media.

Zack Snyder has been posting photos from the making of his DC movies, and he recently revealed a new picture of Henry Cavill and Amy Adams as Clark Kent and Lois Lane. You can see it below.

Henry Cavill last played Superman in a quick appearance after the credits of the 2022 film Black Adam, alongside Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. At the time, there were plans for him to continue playing Superman in future DC Universe movies.

Since becoming active on Instagram, Zack Snyder has been posting behind-the-scenes photos of characters from his DC films, including Batman (Ben Affleck), Mera (Amber Heard), and the Joker (Jared Leto). These posts have led many fans to speculate about a possible return of the ‘Snyderverse,’ even though there are currently no official plans to revive that storyline.

DC Studios is currently concentrating on the first phase of the new DC Universe, called “Gods and Monsters,” led by James Gunn. This year has been particularly exciting with the new Superman film starring David Corenswet. Interestingly, some actors from previous DC movies, like Jason Momoa, are joining the DC Universe – he’ll now be playing Lobo after previously starring as Aquaman.

Zack Snyder has often said he’d love to adapt Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns into a film. He discussed this dream project during a 2023 appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, explaining that it’s something he’s always wanted to do.

I don’t believe so. I envision it as something completely separate. I’d approach it like Watchmen – staying very true to the source material, frame by frame. I actually don’t think it would be that costly to produce. It would be a pretty dark and realistic take.
