YouTube Unveils Personalized 2025 Recap Feature To Rival Spotify Wrapped

YouTube is now offering a year-end recap feature similar to Spotify Wrapped, which first became popular in 2016. Spotify Wrapped lets users see and share their listening habits – like top artists, songs, and genres – from the past year. Following its success, other platforms like Apple Replay have created similar features, and now YouTube is joining them.

YouTube has launched a new personalized feature called YouTube Recap, giving users a look back at their year on the platform. This announcement came alongside the release of YouTube’s annual list of trending videos. Currently, the Recap is available to viewers in North America, and will be rolled out to everyone else this week.

You can find YouTube Recap on the YouTube homepage and in the ‘You’ section, and it works on both phones/tablets and computers.

YouTube Recap is a new feature that creates a personalized highlight reel of your 2025 viewing activity. Like Spotify Wrapped, it will present around 12 cards showing your favorite channels and topics, and illustrate how your interests on YouTube have changed throughout the year. It will even playfully determine your personality type based on the videos you’ve watched.

YouTube Recap will also feature a personalized music summary, similar to Spotify Wrapped. If you listen to music on YouTube, the Recap will show you your most played artists, songs, genres, and podcasts.

YouTube recently launched YouTube Recap after a lot of testing and feedback. It’s arriving before Spotify Wrapped, which hasn’t released its 2025 version yet, but Spotify has announced it’s on the way.
