Although the new Hunger Games movie, Sunrise On The Reaping, won’t be in theaters until 2026, Lionsgate just released the first trailer. Fans are especially buzzing about Glenn Close’s appearance – did you catch a glimpse of her?
The trailer for Sunrise on the Reaping opens with a striking scene: 78-year-old Glenn Close, nominated for an Oscar, is wheeled onto the stage as Drusilla Sickle to select the participants for the 50th Hunger Games. Glenn Close is famous for transforming herself for roles, but her portrayal of Drusilla Sickle is particularly striking. Drusilla is an escort during the Games, similar to Effie Trinket from the original Hunger Games films, but her appearance is truly over-the-top. The character is described in the book as an older woman with a heavily altered face and a very unique sense of style – even using thumbtacks to hold her face in place!
