joining a specialized group of U.S. Marshals charged with protecting Montana.

The new season will feature a fresh cast, including Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, and Tatanka Means. Gil Birmingham and Mo Brings Plenty are returning, and Brecken Merrill will reprise his role as Tate. Country singer Riley Green will also appear in multiple episodes as a guest star, playing Garrett, a former Navy SEAL looking to find peace with the help of Kayce and another new character, Cal (Logan Marshall-Green). According to Variety, Garrett hopes to overcome past struggles with his friends.

Country music star Green, who has released three albums and landed four songs in the top 20 of the country charts, is making his acting debut in Marshals. He expressed his excitement about joining the cast, especially working with his friend Luke Grimes. “This is a great way to start my acting career, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience,” he said.

Riley Green Is the Latest Country Star to Join the ‘Yellowstone’ Universe

Yellowstone has often featured country musicians in its cast. Previous seasons included artists like Ryan Bingham and Lainey Wilson, and Luke Grimes even released his own album recently. The prequel series, 1883, famously starred country legends Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Riley Green is continuing this trend of incorporating country talent into the show.

While Marshals is the first direct sequel to Yellowstone, it’s not the first show expanding the universe. The prequel series 1883 and 1923 were both successful, and several more spin-offs are planned. These include The Dutton Ranch, which continues the story of Yellowstone; another prequel, 1944; and 6666, set on the famous Four Sixes Ranch in Texas that appeared in the later seasons of Yellowstone. All of this comes from Taylor Sheridan, who is currently working on many projects.

Before that, viewers can watch Marshals, premiering on CBS Sunday, March 1st at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The first season will have 13 episodes, and they’ll be available to stream on Paramount+ the day after they air.

Alongside the continuing Yellowstone stories, Paramount+ will also begin streaming The Madison, a new show within the same world, but largely independent. Picking up after the events of Yellowstone, The Madison centers on a family from New York who relocate to Montana, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell as the parents. The first episode of the six-episode series will debut on Saturday, March 14th.

If you enjoy the work of Taylor Sheridan, you’ll have a lot of new content to look forward to in the near future.
