Season 3 of *Yellowjackets* delivered shocking deaths (some of which are still hard to accept), long-awaited answers, and exciting revelations. It also hinted that the teenagers might finally escape the wilderness. Now, the show will continue to explore their experiences in both the past and present, ultimately bringing their story to a conclusive end.
That’s correct, the popular show will conclude after its fourth season. While it’s sad to see it go, I believe ending it now is the right decision.
Yellowjackets Will End With Season 4
About six months after Season 3 came to a close on the 2025 TV schedule, co-creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson released a statement on Instagram to announce that Yellowjackets will end with Season 4. They explained that they’re excited for this final chapter, and candidly noted that they felt like now was the time to end the series. Their statement read, in part:
After three amazing seasons, we’ve carefully decided that season four will be the last for Yellowjackets. We always intended to let the story guide us to its natural ending, and we feel it’s time to bring it to a close.
The creators discussed sharing this powerful, unpredictable, and relatable story, and expressed gratitude to everyone involved – the actors, the production team, and the writers. They also thanked the viewers and expressed excitement about what they hope will be a satisfying final season.
We especially want to thank our incredible fans – the Hive – for being with us through everything! You mean the world to us, and we’re excited to finally share the conclusion of the story. We hope you enjoy it!
I’m definitely planning to watch the final season on Paramount+, and I’m eager to see how the story wraps up. I agree with the creators that ending it now is the right decision.

For $12.99 a month or $119.99 a year, you can get Paramount+ Premium, which is required to watch shows like *Yellowjackets* and all Showtime content. This plan includes ad-free streaming and access to the entire Paramount+ library, plus everything on Showtime. See the deal here.

Why I Think It’s Time For Yellowjackets To End
I’m a big fan of *Yellowjackets*, but I really hope it doesn’t suffer the same fate as many shows that drag on for too long. It’s always struck me as a story that should have a natural ending, rather than continuing indefinitely.
From the beginning, *Yellowjackets* presented us with deliberate mysteries, and Season 3 provided answers to many of them. We learned Mari was the ‘Pit Girl,’ and Shauna was revealed to be the ‘Antler Queen’ seen in the show’s chilling opening scene. Now that we know more about what happened in the wilderness, the story seems to be moving towards their eventual rescue.
Based on the ending of Season 3, where Nat managed to use a phone right before the credits rolled, it looks like that will continue to be a key plot point in the next season.
I’d really like to see the girls rescued and adjusting to life back home in the final episodes. But I don’t think it’s necessary to explore what happened *after* that. They didn’t really stay connected after being rescued, and weren’t reunited significantly until the current season. So, I’m not interested in seeing a story about the years immediately following their rescue.
The entire story has unfolded in the present day and within a wild, natural setting. Many of the show’s long-running mysteries, introduced at the very beginning, have been resolved, leaving only the characters’ rescue as the main goal. Hopefully, Season 4 will deliver a satisfying conclusion and give this show the ending it truly deserves.
