Rumors are swirling that Xochitl Gomez might appear in Avengers: Doomsday, but she’s also confirmed to be joining the cast of a new TV series. This drama, a spin-off of the popular Blue Bloods starring Tom Selleck, has been praised by critics.
Selena Gomez will be joining the new police drama Boston Blue in a recurring role. She’ll play Penny, a clever and engaging young woman with a hidden past who unexpectedly enters the life of Sean Reagan (Mika Amonsen), the son of Danny Reagan, a popular character from Blue Bloods played by Donnie Wahlberg. Gomez will first appear in the episode titled “Code of Ethics,” which airs on November 21st.
Jenna Gomez began her acting career with a role on Disney Channel’s Raven’s Home in 2018, but she gained wider recognition in 2020 as part of the first season of the Netflix series The Baby-Sitters Club. Two years later, she became internationally known for playing the Latina superhero América Chávez in the Marvel film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). Though she hasn’t appeared in a Marvel project since, there’s strong speculation that Gomez will reprise her role as América Chávez in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Fans point to an August interview where Gomez seemed to avoid directly answering questions about the film from ET Online, offering vague responses that suggest she is involved.
