This movie tells the story of Elphaba, who will become the Wicked Witch of the West, and her friendship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. It’s the second part of a two-movie adaptation of the popular Broadway musical.

The story of Wicked begins with Elphaba (Erivo) facing opposition in Oz as she fights for those who have no voice and tries to reveal the truth about the Wizard (Goldblum). Meanwhile, Madame Morrible (Yeoh) is focused on promoting Glinda (Grande) as the public face of Oz.

Elphaba continues to seek answers, but finds herself facing a tough choice. Meanwhile, Morrible tries to undermine her, challenging Elphaba’s compassionate side.

The film concludes Elphaba’s quest to expose the Wizard of Oz, but he tries to manipulate her, forcing her to figure out who her true allies are. At the same time, Glinda works to understand what drives each person’s actions.

Best Parts

This film is visually stunning, with beautiful sets and costumes, much like the original. The two lead actors give excellent performances, and overall, it feels like a movie that fans of the musical will really enjoy.

Worst Parts

While some of the actors have trouble with the musical numbers, and parts of the story aren’t very captivating, the songs themselves aren’t as memorable as those from the classic Wizard of Oz.
