Wondering why there wasn’t a new episode of Alien: Earth on September 30th? This sci-fi horror series follows Wendy and a diverse group of soldiers as they investigate a spaceship that crashed on Earth. As they unravel the ship’s secrets, they uncover a massive threat to our planet. With no new episode this week, many viewers are asking if the show has been cancelled.
Why Alien: Earth didn’t air a new episode this week
The series Alien has finished its run with a total of 8 episodes. All episodes have already been released, and the final episode aired on September 23, 2025. As a result, a new episode won’t be available this week.
As of today, Alien: Earth Season 2 hasn’t been officially confirmed. Still, there’s a possibility of another season, considering recent rumors, what the show’s creator has said, and the ending of the show – which suggests potential storylines for the future.
During a recent interview, showrunner Noah Hawley was questioned about the possibility of extending the series. He confirmed that he does have plans to continue the story, stating, “I do. I do. I think I know where the story is headed, which helps me understand what I’m trying to convey.” He also explained that the team is working to speed up production so viewers won’t have to wait years for a new season. He wants to streamline the process.
In a recent conversation with Polygon, Hawley discussed the finale and shared his optimism for Season 2. He explained, “As a visual storyteller, I always aim to spark the audience’s imagination. So much of what we see treats viewers as passive observers. Therefore, if the biggest issue is that the audience needs to complete the story themselves, I believe they’re capable of imagining fantastic conclusions.” He then hinted at the show’s future, stating, “I’m quite confident, considering how well the show has performed, that we’ll have the opportunity to create more.”
It’s currently unknown when we’ll hear about Season 2. In the meantime, fans can rewatch or catch up on Season 1, which is available on FX and FX on Hulu.
