Fans are wondering why a new episode of South Park Season 28 isn’t airing tonight on Comedy Central. The show follows four friends in the town of South Park as they experience unusual and often bizarre adventures. Because new episodes usually come out on Wednesdays, people are curious about what’s causing the delay.
Here are the details on when the next episode will drop.
Why there’s no new South Park Season 28 episode tonight
A new Halloween episode of South Park Season 28 will air on Comedy Central on October 31, 2025, at 10 pm Eastern and Pacific time. Because of the holiday, it won’t be released on the show’s typical Wednesday schedule.
The next episode, titled “The Woman in the Hat,” brings back characters based on Donald Trump and Satan in a humorous and critical way. The show shared a sneak peek on X (formerly Twitter) showing Trump and Satan wearing hard hats, surrounded by construction workers who seem to be tearing down the White House.
Since its Season 27 debut in July 2025, South Park hasn’t been airing on a regular schedule, and fans are curious why. The first episode sparked some controversy, and co-creator Matt Stone explained that subsequent episodes were delayed because they weren’t finished when needed.
This month, the show unexpectedly finished Season 27 and immediately started Season 28. According to reports, Season 27 was only ever intended to have five episodes, with another five planned for Season 28. Comedy Central hasn’t treated these as one long, continuous season either. Season 28 finale is set for December 10, 2025.
