Why I Think 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever’s Loren And Alexei Feel So Unnecessary For This Latest Season

The recent installment of “90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?” has prompted me to tackle the obvious issue that’s been subtly present throughout the season so far. Despite all the turmoil involving each pair, I can’t help but wonder why Loren and Alexei Brovarnik are part of this season. Their presence seems almost superfluous, given their minimal impact on the storyline.

In the most recent episode, Loren was present alongside Yara. After the entire sequence unfolded, I found myself perplexed as to why the scene took place at all. One point of contention I have with this season is that I struggle to identify a genuine purpose for the Brovanik family’s inclusion.

Loren And Alexei Don’t Seem To Have Any Clear Role In This Season

Kicking off the new season, Loren and Alexei organized a dinner party for some fellow “90 Day” couples to give fans an insight into their activities this season. However, it seemed that the event was more about showcasing Andrei & Libby Castravet and Jovi & Yara Dufren’s stories, as viewers learned very little about Loren and Alexei. In fact, their only notable contribution was inviting a friend who had a heated argument with Andrei over his misogynistic behavior.

In my humble opinion, this season, it seems as if Loren and Alexei haven’t had a substantial storyline that truly resonates, but they continue to appear on screen. Interestingly enough, in the most recent episode, we find Loren stepping into Yara’s photographer role, despite having no apparent background in photography. It leaves me scratching my head, wondering why these two characters persistently feature in the series. One can’t help but speculate that perhaps the producers aim to highlight them as one of the few 90 Day Fiancé couples who are still going strong.

If They’re Just Included To Stir The Pot For Other Couples, Do Fans Need Them In This Season?

In my opinion, the Brovarniks seem to have been added to this season mainly because they thrive on causing drama among others. Previously, Loren has faced criticisms from other cast members for her alleged dishonesty and instigating conflicts. This trend appears to continue in this season, which seems to be one of the few ways they can stay significant within the latest installment of the show.

Viewers may recall a brief stint where Loren and Alexei starred in their own spinoff, which didn’t last long. However, it appears that Loren and Alexei have become a fixture in the 90 Day Fiancé universe. Despite not generating the same level of sensational news as previous cast members such as Angela Deem and Big Ed Brown, they have made numerous appearances. It’s possible that with Angela and Ed moving on, TLC is focusing more on keeping couples like the Brovaniks as part of the franchise?

I’m merely guessing here since I can’t quite grasp why this specific couple was chosen for 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After instead of others who might have been more suitable. But let me assure you, I’m genuinely pleased that they’re still going strong in their marriage. However, I must admit, I’ve grown tired of seeing them so prominently featured on the show each week without contributing much to its content.
