Why is there so much excitement among fans of the series “Wednesday” regarding the split between Enid and Ajax, a topic that was promptly addressed in the season 2 premiere, shedding light on the issues that led to their breakup following their romantic relationship in season 1?
Enid discussed the separation, Ajax gave his feedback, and this is what it signifies for her upcoming relationship.
Enid shared insights about the breakup, Ajax reacted, and these points are relevant to her budding relationship.
Enid explains why she and Ajax broke up in Wednesday Season 2
In the first episode of Season 2 on Wednesday, Emma Myers’ character, Enid Sinclair, discloses the cause for her split with Georgie Farmer’s character, Ajax Petropolus.
On Wednesday, she shares, “I’m finding it hard to say how I feel about Ajax now. He’s adorable, but he seems to be hung up on the old version of me, while I’ve evolved.” This instance underscores that Enid’s transformation at the end of Season 1 significantly altered her feelings and self-perception.
In the initial installment, we see Enid developing a bond with Bruno, a fresh werewolf pupil hailing from the Philippines, portrayed by Noah B. Taylor. However, at a later gathering around a blazing bonfire, Ajax brings up an issue: he claims that over the summer, Enid had suddenly stopped responding to him (essentially disappeared or ‘ghosted’ him).
As a movie buff, I might rephrase it like this:
“At Wolf Camp, there were no devices allowed – I went completely off-grid for an entire month! Can you imagine? It’s left me feeling a bit… disconnected, to be honest. I think I might have developed some sort of ‘unplugged syndrome’.”
Later on, Ajax remarked, “It seems like you’ve been keeping yourself occupied,” and I confessed, “I’ve been preoccupied with the wolf pack, and you’ve got your RA duties. Plus, there’s this thing about Wednesday that keeps me busy as well.
In Episode 3, Enid and Ajax engage in a heartfelt chat about their split. Enid confesses, “I should have shared my feelings earlier in the year. I came to understand that I wasn’t the insecure girl who doubted her ability to belong.” Enid expresses regret and also mentions, “I didn’t anticipate my relationship with Bruno would develop so quickly.
Bruno, similar to Enid, is the last family member to “embrace their unique qualities,” and their connection deepens through mutual identity exploration and personal development. In contrast to Ajax, who remains fixed on the past, Bruno encourages Enid’s self-evolution. The series showcases Enid’s newfound understanding following her transformation and her choice of a path and companion that align with her current self.
Netflix will release Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 on September 3, 2025.
