In the upcoming second series of Wednesday, fans can anticipate another dose of excitement similar to the initial season, with enigmatic character Hyde, played by Tyler Galpin, returning. The entire first season was centered around unraveling the identity of this elusive Hyde, and the finale finally disclosed that it was indeed Tyler.
But what ultimately happened to Tyler, and where will he be in the second season of Wednesday?
Tyler’s big reveal in Wednesday explained
The main narrative of Wednesday season 1 centered around the character known as the Hyde. In the last episode, it was disclosed that Hunter Doohan’s character, Tyler, was the notorious monster. As it turned out, Marilyn Thornhill was manipulating Tyler, using his Hyde form which possessed extraordinary strength and abilities, to carry out her tasks.
Throughout the series, Thornhill manipulated Tyler into eliminating the outcasts on Wednesdays. However, in the season finale, Tyler encountered Wednesday himself. Yet, before they could resolve their conflict, Enid transformed into a werewolf and overpowered the Hyde, ending the confrontation.
The series last showed Tyler being taken away in an armored car, away from the Nevermore Academy.
The trailer for the second season of the show has already given a glimpse of where Tyler is.
Why is Tyler in chains in Wednesday Season 2?
It appears that, following his removal in an armored vehicle during the final moments of Season 1, he is now confined within the walls of Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital in a secluded chamber for Season 2, as hinted by the trailer’s glimpse into Wednesday’s prophetic vision. In this vision, Tyler looked visibly drained and weary as well.
While this doesn’t imply that Tyler isn’t dangerous, he is actually kept in restraints due to his unpredictable and potentially harmful nature. In other words, if we didn’t have him under strict control, there’s a high probability that he could run away and cause harm to others. Given the immense strength Tyler exhibits in his Hyde form, it wouldn’t be difficult for him to break free from this facility.
Regardless of how things turn out, it’s clear that Tyler continues to pose a significant risk, and based on the teaser for Season 2 of Wednesday, he seems set to have an important role again this time around.
Wednesday season 2 will premiere on August 6, 2025, on Netflix.
