This is a pretty unbelievable story! It’s not something you hear every day – an actor accidentally urinating on a co-star. And it’s even more surprising to hear it described so casually. Amanda Seyfried shared this story about an incident with Channing Tatum while filming the 2010 movie, Dear John.
During an interview with Deadline, Seyfried was asked about a favorite memory involving BTS from a project she’d worked on, which led her to share a surprising story from the set of Dear John. The Housemaid star mentioned they had a lot of fun filming the romantic movie, and then began to recount the tale.
I’m not sure if it’s my absolute favorite memory, but it highlights the fun, playful connection I had with Channing Tatum while filming ‘Dear John.’ We constantly joked around and had a blast working together – he’s genuinely hilarious. There was even a funny incident where he playfully urinated on my leg without me realizing it at the time!
Honestly, when the interviewer heard that, their first reaction was totally me – they just went, “Wait, what?” Then the Mean Girls actress started telling the whole story, and I gotta say, she was so cool and collected about it, just casually explaining everything.
While we were at the beach, my dog unexpectedly urinated on my leg. I didn’t immediately notice, but then I realized why he was standing so close! Some of it even splashed into a nearby coffee cup. He ran off while I yelled, and luckily, I stopped a makeup artist from accidentally drinking out of the contaminated cup.
I’m really curious about a few things. First, what led Tatum to do that? And second, what other playful interactions happened between these two while filming Dear John? If this is just one story about their on-set antics, I wonder what else went on.
I’m glad the actress stopped the makeup artist from accidentally drinking the liquid used in that wild prank.
This story is bringing back some good memories! While the movie Dear John didn’t win over critics, it was really popular in theaters, and I personally loved it as a fan of Nicholas Sparks. A lot of people consider it one of Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried’s better films, and it definitely made me appreciate those actors even more.
I was already familiar with Amanda Seyfried from films like Mean Girls and Mamma Mia!, but Dear John really solidified me as a fan. Now I eagerly anticipate all of her new projects, because she’s incredibly versatile. Just look at her recent work – she starred in both The Housemaid and The Testament of Ann Lee last year, showing her range as an actress.
I had seen Channing Tatum in films like Step Up and She’s the Man, so I was really excited when he took the lead in Dear John. Soon after, some of his most popular movies were released, including Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street. He’s continued to star in successful films since then, such as The Lost City and Deadpool & Wolverine.
All of this makes me hope Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum will work together again. It doesn’t seem likely right now – Seyfried is busy with several projects, and Tatum has two films scheduled for 2026, Josephine and Avengers: Doomsday – but I still think it’s possible. It’s clear from their history that they have great chemistry and enjoy working together, so it would be fun to see them share the screen again.
