Vision Quest is scheduled to premiere in 2026 and will wrap up the story started in Marvel’s WandaVision trilogy. This Disney+ series will pick up where WandaVision and Agatha All Along left off, continuing their storylines.
Vision Quest is part of MCU’s WandaVision trilogy
Paul Bettany confirmed that Vision Quest is part of a trilogy that began with WandaVision.
During a conversation with Screen Rant’s Joe Deckelmeier at Los Angeles Comic-Con, Bettany stated that the new show isn’t a direct continuation of previous events, but emphasized, “No, but I would say it’s absolutely, rightly part of the trilogy.” This positions Vision Quest alongside WandaVision and Agatha All Along as connected Disney+ series. The upcoming show is planned for Phase Six of the MCU and will bring the story arc started in those three shows to a conclusion.
WandaVision first aired in January 2021 and quickly became one of Marvel Studios’ most praised shows. It won Emmy Awards and marked the beginning of Phase 4 of the MCU. The final episode featured White Vision, a version created by the government who was rebuilt with the memories of the original Vision. After that, he wasn’t seen again. The story threads from the show continued in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and later in Agatha All Along.
Since 2008, Paul Bettany has been a key part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, first lending his voice to J.A.R.V.I.S. in Iron Man, and later bringing Vision to life in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He’s set to reprise his role in Vision Quest, a series that will explore White Vision’s journey to understand who he is. The show will also feature James Spader as Ultron, alongside Emily Hampshire, Todd Stashwick, and Ruaridh Mollica, who will play a new version of Tommy Maximoff. According to Comic Circus, the series will connect the events of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to the wider MCU.
The movie Vision Quest is currently planned to be released sometime between mid- and late-2026. It’s anticipated to come out after Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31, 2026) and before Avengers: Doomsday (December 18, 2026). Some believe this release schedule is designed to position Vision for a significant part in the upcoming Avengers movie. It’s an interesting setup.
