Season 7 of Virgin River will premiere next month. The popular Netflix drama recently finished its sixth season in December 2024, becoming one of the platform’s most-watched shows once again. The new episodes will continue the stories of Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson), but will also resolve a significant cliffhanger from the last season.
The seventh season of Virgin River, based on the novels by Robyn Carr, leaves viewers wondering if Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) has died. Although fans will have to wait for a definitive answer about Jack’s former girlfriend, they won’t have to wait long to learn the full story.
Ben Hollingsworth, while promoting his new film The Christmas Ring (now available on demand), shared some exciting news on Good Day New York: season 7 of Virgin River is set to premiere in March 2026. The news was initially revealed by a show host, and Hollingsworth later confirmed it, also discussing the show’s successful season 8 renewal and his experience playing Dan Brady.
It’s still incredibly impactful for me, almost unbelievable. Netflix is the biggest streaming service out there, and to have our show last the longest is a real gift. I absolutely love playing my character, Brady. I feel so connected to him and I always try to advocate for him. He constantly faces hardship—I always joke that if he had an address, it would be in a really tough spot. He never gets a break! So, when I read new scripts, I’m always hoping the writers will finally let him find some happiness.
Filming has finished on season 8 of Virgin River, making it Netflix’s longest-running scripted live-action series. The new season will introduce some fresh faces to the show’s cast. Sara Canning, known for her role as Aunt Jenna in The Vampire Diaries, will play a former police officer who now works as an investigator for the state medical board. Her character arrives in Virgin River to look into Doc’s medical practice.
Cody Kearsley, known for his role in Riverdale, is joining the cast of Virgin River as Clay, a young man searching for his sister. Many familiar faces will be returning, including Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Zibbly Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, and Kandyse McClure. However, Mark Ghanimé, who played Dr. Cameron Hayek starting in season 4, will not be a series regular this season, according to showrunner Patrick Sean Smith.
| Returning Virgin River Cast Member | Who They Play |
|---|---|
| Alexandra Breckenridge | Melinda “Mel” Monroe |
| Martin Henderson | Jack Sheridan |
| Tim Matheson | Dr. Vernon “Doc” Mullins |
| Annette O’Toole | Hope McCrea |

I’m really excited to hear that the clinic will be a big part of the next season! It sounds like they’re going to delve deeper into Dan Brady’s life – his personal and money troubles, especially after everything Hollingsworth’s character went through. We’ll get a full trailer and some first-look photos soon, as Virgin River and all the romance we love get ready to come back to Netflix. I can’t wait!
