Phase 6 of the MCU has several projects planned, and even more Marvel content is coming from various sources. These releases include both films and series that will be available on Disney+ and other streaming services like Amazon Prime.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is at a turning point as it finishes its Multiverse Saga and prepares for a fresh start with Phase 6. Meanwhile, Sony is now concentrating all its efforts on Spider-Man, especially after deciding to end its separate Spider-Man Universe of films with the release of Kraven the Hunter in 2024.
We’ll keep you updated on the latest Marvel movie news as we get it. Here’s a look at what Marvel has planned for the years ahead.
1. Spider-Man: Brand New Day – July 31, 2026
The new Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day, will come out on July 31, 2026, which is more than a year after the previous Marvel film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. This is the longest wait between Marvel movies since the pandemic, when there was a two-year gap between Spider-Man: Far From Home and Black Widow.
The title of Spider-Man’s fourth movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes from a popular comic book storyline. The comic, called “Brand New Day,” explores what happens after Spider-Man regains his secret identity, and it introduces new characters like Mister Negative and Jackpot.

In addition to Jon Bernthal and Michael Mando, Tom Holland (as Spider-Man), Zendaya (as MJ), Jacob Batalon (as Ned), and Mark Ruffalo (as Hulk) are all returning for the next installment. Sadie Sink from Stranger Things and Liza Colón-Zayas from The Bear have also joined the cast, though their roles are currently being kept secret.
2. Avengers: Doomsday – December 18, 2026
I’m so excited for Avengers: Doomsday! It’s finally coming out on December 18, 2026, though we had to wait a bit longer – it was originally planned for May 1st. This will be the first real Avengers team-up movie since Endgame back in 2019, and it kicks off the next big phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even with the Thunderbolts movie getting a slightly different name.
Filming for Avengers: Doomsday started in late April 2025. Some footage from the film was actually included in the end credits of Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Because of this, and other information that’s become available, we now have some early details about the story of Avengers: Doomsday.
Recent storylines have set up a conflict between the New Avengers and Captain America’s Avengers in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday event. This conflict coincides with the unexpected arrival of the Fantastic Four’s spaceship in their universe. Additionally, a post-credits scene in The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduced Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, showing him meeting with Franklin Richards, who reaches out to touch Doom’s scarred face.
The Russo Brothers, known for directing the blockbuster hits Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, will also direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Their decision to return is largely due to the potential inclusion of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, which they see as a key element for the films’ success.
In March 2025, a lengthy live stream revealed much of the cast for Avengers: Doomsday. The film will bring together established MCU actors from previous Avengers teams and Wakanda, alongside new faces including the Fantastic Four and characters from the X-Men universe. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has stated that all these heroes will unite to fight Doctor Doom.
3. Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse – June 4, 2027
After several delays since its initial announcement in 2021, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is now expected to be released on June 4, 2027. This film will be different from other Marvel movies because it won’t follow the main storyline of the MCU; instead, it will conclude Sony’s animated Spider-Verse series.
This third movie in the series will finish Miles Morales’ journey through the multiverse. The last film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, left him stuck in another universe with a version of himself, the Prowler, who seemed to be a villain. Now, Spider-Gwen is leading a team of Spider-People to rescue Miles, despite opposition from Miguel O’Hara.
Details about the new movie’s plot are still being kept secret while filming continues. Sony is likely aiming to repeat the huge critical and commercial success of the first two Spider-Verse films. The film will be co-directed by Justin K. Thompson, who directed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Bob Persichetti, director of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Because of how Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse concluded, we can anticipate seeing most, if not all, of the original movie’s main characters back for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. So far, no new actors or characters have been announced to be part of the upcoming film.
4. Avengers: Secret Wars – December 17, 2027
Following the release of Avengers: Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to come out on December 17, 2027. This will mirror the pattern of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. However, unlike during the build-up to those films, Marvel hasn’t announced any movies planned for release between these two upcoming Avengers titles – there weren’t similar gaps filled with films like Ant-Man and the Wasp or Captain Marvel before Infinity War and Endgame.
Details about Avengers: Secret Wars are still scarce, as you’d expect. However, we know Doctor Doom will be the main villain. The movie is likely to draw inspiration from the comic book series of the same name, where Doom controls ‘Battleworld’ – a planet made up of pieces from different universes – and rules as an all-powerful emperor.
It’s now confirmed that Avengers: Secret Wars will happen before the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) gets rebooted. This reboot might be caused by a huge event in the movie, leading to new actors taking over iconic roles like Iron Man and Professor X. Alternatively, it could follow the comic books, where a new multiverse is formed at the end of the story.
The directors behind some of the biggest Avengers films, the Russo Brothers, will be directing Avengers: Secret Wars. So far, only the Fantastic Four are confirmed to appear in the movie. Because Avengers: Doomsday has such major consequences, it’s unclear who else might still be around for Secret Wars, and Marvel Studios hasn’t announced any other returning characters yet.
A third Black Panther movie was officially announced in December 2024, but we don’t yet know when it will be released. There’s a chance it could come out between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, however, since filming hasn’t started, that’s not confirmed.
Ryan Coogler, the writer and director of the first two Black Panther films, will produce the third movie. Academy Award winner Denzel Washington is also confirmed to be part of the project, though his role hasn’t been revealed yet. The story will likely connect to the events of either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars.
While Marvel still says a Blade movie is planned, it’s not currently listed among their upcoming releases. The project has faced difficulties for several years, with multiple directors coming and going. Blade was also briefly mentioned in a scene after the credits of the film Eternals, though he didn’t actually appear on screen.
Mahershala Ali is still set to play Blade, and Mia Goth might also be joining the cast. Unfortunately, there’s not much information available about the movie’s progress or release date. However, the Blade character is scheduled to appear in the 2025 Disney+ series, Marvel Zombies.
Similar to Blade, Armor Wars is still planned, but hasn’t had much news lately. This happened after the project changed from being a TV series to a movie. Don Cheadle will return as James Rhodes, and Yassir Lester is still directing. The story will explore what happens with Iron Man’s technology and legacy following his death in Avengers: Infinity War.
Details about the upcoming Armor Wars series are still being worked out, and Don Cheadle hasn’t shared many updates recently. However, the show is expected to bring back popular characters like Justin Hammer (played by Sam Rockwell). With the release of Ironheart, Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams and Alden Ehrenreich’s Ezekiel Stane are also set to reappear.
Because Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is now focused on Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a sequel to Shang-Chi—which he was originally set to direct—isn’t likely to move forward quickly. Adding to this, Simu Liu, who plays Shang-Chi, is also committed to filming Avengers: Doomsday and may participate in Avengers: Secret Wars.
The next Avengers movie, likely Avengers: Doomsday, will probably deal with the hint at the end of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, where Shang-Chi and other Avengers found a mysterious signal coming from his Ten Rings. A Shang-Chi sequel will most likely take place after the events of Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars.
Even though Marvel is now focusing more on making fewer, higher-quality projects, there are still lots of exciting Marvel shows planned for Disney+ and other platforms in the next few years. These shows will help keep fans entertained between movie releases until 2027.
