The latest Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion, Mega Evolution – Phantasmal Flames, is now available with exciting new cards for both players and collectors. Charizard X ex is the clear star of the set, with its special and hyper rare versions being the most sought-after cards. Mega Lopunny ex also makes a notable appearance, featuring stunning artwork and powerful abilities.
The Pokémon TCG expansion, Mega Evolution – Phantasmal Flames, launched on November 14, 2025, and prominently features Pokémon Mega Evolutions. The cards in this set are a combination of those found in the Japanese Inferno X set, as well as special decks featuring Mega Gengar and Mega Diancie. As the name Phantasmal Flames implies, Fire- and Darkness-type Pokémon are well-represented, though some of the most sought-after cards aren’t of these types.
Okay, so Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames isn’t even out yet as of today. That means the prices you’re seeing are going to change a lot once everyone starts opening packs and we find out how rare those Secret Rares actually are. I’m pulling these average prices from TCGPlayer, and I’ve included links for each card so you can double-check them yourself and see what they’re currently going for.
Mega Lopunny ex (115/094)
Ultra Rare Card In Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames
It’s surprising to see Mega Lopunny ex appear on this list twice, especially this Ultra Rare version, which just made the cut. The artwork is really striking – it has a unique style that feels like something out of a 90s music video, making the illustration stand out as particularly memorable.
As of today, the average price for this Pokémon card on TCGPlayer is $21.64, and it looks like prices are currently going up.
Piplup (098/094)
Illustration Rare Card In Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames
I absolutely love Piplup, so I was thrilled to see such a sweet version of it in the Phantasmal Flames set, and at a great price too! The artwork shows Piplup sitting under a snowy ledge, and honestly, it looks like it’s deep in thought, maybe even wondering about the meaning of life! It’s just adorable.
Right now, the Piplup Illustration Rare card is selling for around $29.88 on average at TCGPlayer, and prices haven’t changed much lately.
Meowth (106/094)
Illustration Rare Card In Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames
This Illustration Rare Card features a Meowth that’s both incredibly cute and a little unpredictable! It’s so appealing, it makes you want to snuggle it, but just like my own cats, it probably wouldn’t appreciate the gesture – and might even find it a bit risky!
This adorable card is definitely worth noticing. As of today, TCGPlayer lists this Meowth card for around $41.01, which is down from a previous price of $60.
Rotom ex (126/094)
Special Illustration Rare Card In Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames
Although Rotom is known for transforming into different appliances and even a phone, this particular Rotom ex card stands out on its own. The card’s special artwork features glimpses of Rotom’s various forms in the background, with the classic, small orange plasma ball version of Rotom taking center stage.
This Rotom card could really boost other Rotom cards you’re already using. However, because it’s a special, illustrated version, you might want to keep it safe and not play with it. Right now, TCGPlayer shows its price at $43.27, and it seems to be getting more expensive.
Mega Sharpedo ex (127/094)
Special Illustration Rare Card In Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames
The Mega Sharpedo ex card really captures how intimidating this Pokémon is – it makes the shark look even more fearsome! You definitely wouldn’t want to encounter one in person, but it would be a powerful ally in a Pokémon TCG battle. Its Hungry Jaws attack is especially strong, dealing an extra 150 damage if Sharpedo has already taken some damage.
While this beautifully illustrated rare card is quite valuable on its own, it probably won’t be used much in gameplay. As of today, its average price on TCGPlayer is $59.23.
Mega Lopunny ex (128/094)
Special Illustration Rare Card In Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames
This is another appearance of Mega Lopunny ex, this time as the Special Illustration Rare card (128/094). The artwork seems to capture Mega Lopunny in the middle of its Spiky Hopper attack, emphasizing its remarkably long legs. While sharing a similar style and color scheme with the Ultra Rare version, this card is even more visually striking.
Right now, a Mega Lopunny ex card is selling for around $65.39 on TCGPlayer, although prices are trending upwards. Pokémon card values can change quickly, but finding one of these is still a great find!
Mega Charizard X ex (109/094)
Ultra Rare Card In Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames
Okay, so Mega Charizard X ex is everywhere in the new Phantasmal Flames set – it’s even on the Elite Trainer Box! Honestly, it doesn’t shock me that the most valuable cards are all about this Charizard. This Ultra Rare version is seriously gorgeous, and the artwork really matches the overall look of the set. It’s a must-have for any collector, in my opinion.
Okay, so I checked TCGPlayer, and right now, Mega Charizard X ex (card 109/094) is going for around $82.27 on average. That’s what I’m seeing as of today.
Dawn (Trainer Card 129/094)
Special Illustration Rare Card In Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames
As a Pokémon card collector, I’ve been following the prices from the new Phantasmal Flames set, and it’s interesting how different it is from older sets like Mega Evolutions. That set had a bunch of trainers that were super valuable, but right now, only one from Phantasmal Flames is really pulling in the big bucks. And honestly, it totally deserves to be the most expensive – it’s a gorgeous card!
The Pokémon Trainer card featuring Dawn, in its Special Illustration Rare version, is a stunning addition to any collection. It depicts a picturesque mountain scene with Dawn riding her bicycle on a sunny path. Beyond its beauty, the card is also quite valuable; recent market data from TCGPlayer shows it selling for an average of $113.99.
Mega Charizard X ex (130/094)
Mega Hyper Rare Card In Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames
Mega Hyper Rare cards are the newest and rarest type of card in the trading card game, taking the place of Hyper Rares. Recent data suggests that your chances of pulling any gold-colored Mega Hyper Rare card are about 1 in 1,260. This likely holds true for the Phantasmal Flames Mega Charizard X ex card as well.
This Mega Charizard X ex card (a very rare version) is currently selling for unpredictable prices. As of today, TCGPlayer lists it around $851.30, but some have sold for as much as $2,011. It will be interesting to see what the card’s stable price becomes once the initial excitement dies down.
Mega Charizard X ex (125/094)
Special Illustration Rare Card In Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames
Without a doubt, the most stunning card in the set is the Special Illustration Rare Mega Charizard X ex. It’s no surprise it ranks so highly! The card features incredibly vibrant artwork that really grabs your attention, and it uniquely showcases all of Charizard’s different forms. This illustration is so well-done it could be sold as a full painting, but even as a card, it’s quite valuable.
Currently, the Special Illustration Rare version of Mega Charizard X ex is selling for around $950 on TCGPlayer, with a recent sale reaching $1,050. It’s widely considered the most valuable and sought-after card from the Pokémon TCG: Phantasmal Flames set.
