This decision follows news of Sophie Turner’s casting as Lara Croft in Amazon Prime Video’s eagerly awaited live-action Tomb Raider series.

As reported by Variety, the second and concluding season of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is set to debut on streaming platforms starting December 11, 2025. In this upcoming adventure, Hayley Atwell will step into the role of Lara Croft while Karen Fukuhara takes on Sam Nishimura.

In the synopsis for Season 2, it’s stated that Lara Croft uncovers a series of misappropriated African Orisha masks. To recover these priceless artifacts, she teams up with her trusted companion Sam. This journey leads Lara around the world, exploring the mysterious past of Orisha lore and evading the cunning schemes of a wealthy and elusive antagonist who covets the masks. As the story unfolds, it becomes apparent that these relics conceal dark mysteries and an energy beyond rational comprehension. This force could potentially be divine in nature.

The story is penned and overseen by showrunner Tasha Huo (creator of The Witcher: Blood Origin, Red Sonja).
