The recent re-release of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair – a nearly five-hour action film that came to theaters on December 5, 2025 – has reminded audiences just how brilliant Quentin Tarantino’s work is.
Image Comics is bringing us Tigress Island, a raw and intense five-issue comic series created by Patrick Kindlon (known for Frontiersman, Gehenna: Naked Aggression, and Stinger) and artist EPHK (Harpy, The Seasons, Napalm Lullaby). The story centers on a group of former stars who have been kidnapped and imprisoned in a dangerous, brutal jungle. A cruel female warden rules over them with malicious intent, and their physical chains are just the first of many challenges they must overcome to escape. They’ll need to work together to survive, but trust is fragile, and betrayal could mean a lonely death as the others look on.
Kill Bill, Grindhouse Inspired Tigress Island
The covers of Tigress Island hint at a dark and intense story. Like the iconic female characters in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill – Uma Thurman, Vivica Fox, Lucy Liu, and others – this project features strong, violent female leads. It also shares a similar energetic style with 1990s action films.
Fans of Tarantino’s Grindhouse – a throwback to 1970s exploitation films – will also appreciate the nods to Tigress Island. With no new Kill Bill or Grindhouse projects likely in the future, Tigress Island is set to continue that exciting, action-packed spirit, carrying the torch – and the sharpest blades – into 2026.
