Get ready to see a lot of KPop Demon Hunters costumes this Halloween! The Netflix musical was a huge hit this summer, earning fantastic reviews and becoming the platform’s most-watched show ever. It’s almost guaranteed that KPop Demon Hunters will also be nominated for Oscars in the Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song categories.
Fans are still enthusiastically celebrating the movie, and now they have another chance to see it in theaters! KPop Demon Hunters will be back on the big screen for Halloween weekend, inspiring even more creative costumes. The movie was already a huge hit on Netflix, and a limited theatrical release in August earned $18 million.
Attendees at this weekend’s screenings might spot amazing costumes, like the one recently shared by internet personality Eugene Lee Yang (@EugeneLeeYang on X). Yang, known for his work with The Try Guys, created a remarkably detailed Jinu/Saja Boy costume, perfectly capturing the character’s intricate designs and striking poses.
Check out this cosplay below:
This cosplay highlights how the demon boy band, despite being portrayed as villains, has become incredibly popular – just as well-known as the film’s main heroes, the girl group Huntr/x. The band Saja Boys’ songs, “Soda Pop” and “Your Idol,” are now streaming successes, alongside the uplifting themes of “Golden” and “What It Sounds Like.” While Netflix is submitting “Golden” for consideration for Best Original Song, the band has multiple popular tracks.
Yang’s cosplay is inspired by the world of “Your Idol,” specifically the scene where the Saja Boys, showing off more of their demon forms than usual, draw a huge crowd to an unexpected concert. Rumi (Arden Cho) arrives, leading to a reunion between Hutr/x and the defeat of the demon crowd, with Jinu (Ahn Hyo-seop) assisting in sealing the Honmoon.
Costumes based on the characters Rumi, Mira, and Zoey are predicted to be very popular. “KPop Demon Hunters” is expected to be the most popular movie at the box office this week, largely because it appeals to families and major award contenders aren’t being released until next week. The movie’s sing-along version, combined with the Halloween holiday, could make it a special event, even though it’s already been playing in theaters.
Eugene Lee Yang’s incredible costume has raised the expectations for others, and we can anticipate seeing many impressive outfits at the upcoming event. The popularity of KPop Demon Hunters shows no signs of slowing down, and this event will be another chance for fans to celebrate. While Yang’s costume is already a strong contender for best of Halloween, it gives us a preview of the creativity we can expect to see.
