The Woman Part Of The Coldplay Kiss Cam Scandal Did Not Hold Back About How Gwyneth Paltrow Got Involved: ‘What A Hypocrite’

One of the biggest viral moments of 2025 was definitely the drama that unfolded at a Coldplay concert in July. A couple was shown on the Jumbotron kissing, and they awkwardly tried to avoid the camera. It quickly came out that the couple were Andy Byron, the CEO of Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, an executive – both of whom were married to other people, sparking rumors of an affair. Now, Kristin Cabot is speaking out about what happened, and she’s also criticizing the way Gwyneth Paltrow became involved in the story.

Shortly after a video of a kiss cam moment at a Coldplay concert went viral, AI company Astronomer enlisted Gwyneth Paltrow – who is divorced from Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin – for an advertising campaign. This upset Cabot, who responded by discarding all of her products from Goop, Paltrow’s lifestyle and wellness brand. She explained her decision to The Times, stating:

I really admired her brand, especially because it focused on empowering women. So I was shocked when this happened. It felt especially wrong considering how much criticism she faced for promoting ‘conscious uncoupling.’ It’s just incredibly hypocritical.

Kristin Cabot points out the irony of Gwyneth Paltrow appearing in an advertisement that’s benefiting from online attention, considering Paltrow herself was widely mocked for describing her 2014 split from Chris Martin after ten years of marriage as a “conscious uncoupling.” Although the phrase existed before, Paltrow made it famous, and Cabot feels it’s hypocritical for Paltrow to now profit from a similar situation involving herself and Andy Byron, after facing criticism for using the term a decade earlier.

Cabot explained that a 16-second video from a Coldplay concert dramatically changed her life, even though she hasn’t actually seen it. She described the impact by saying:

I unexpectedly became a widely shared meme and, in the process, received an incredible amount of negative attention – arguably more than any other HR professional. As a woman, I bore the brunt of the criticism. People made hurtful accusations, claiming I achieved success through manipulation or inappropriate relationships, which was completely untrue. I had to overcome significant obstacles and endure years of unwanted advances and dismissive comments to advance my career.

As a follower of the story, it seems pretty clear there was no proof of an affair between Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot – the article actually stated they were both separated when all this came out. Still, it was surprising to see Andy resign so quickly after the video surfaced, and Kristin soon followed. From what I understand, they haven’t exchanged a word since briefly discussing how to handle the situation right after everything went public.

In a later interview, Cabot explained she’s still dealing with negative consequences, even being told she’ll never find work. She was particularly upset that no one from Coldplay ever contacted her or issued a statement following the kiss cam incident, which she suspects Chris Martin may have orchestrated.

Okay, so everyone’s been talking about what Kristin Cabot said about Gwyneth, and if Gwyneth responds, I’ll definitely share it with you. But the bigger news for me? Gwyneth’s actually coming out of acting retirement! She’s starring in a new movie called Marty Supreme with Timothée Chalamet, and early reviews are amazing. It hits theaters Christmas Day, and honestly, I’m already planning my trip!
