The White Lotus Season 4 Adds Birds of Prey Star

‘ doors are wide open. After revealing its French setting, more guests start checking in.

While it hasn’t been officially announced, Chris Messina, known for his role in Birds of Prey, is reportedly being considered for Season 4 of the popular series. Sources say he’s received an offer and is very interested in joining the show’s cast, though HBO has not yet confirmed anything.

The new season will star Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka, but details about their roles and the overall storyline are currently being kept secret.

Previously, Deadline reported that Helena Bonham Carter, known for her role in Harry Potter, is in talks to appear in the new series. This would be one season after a co-star received a Golden Globe nomination for playing Timothy Ratliff.

Details are still emerging about what role Messina will play, but sources say it was a highly sought-after part – several other actors were also in contention before Messina was cast opposite Carter.

Chris Messina is a well-known actor with roles in several popular shows and films. He’s known for his work on The Mindy Project, which received two Critics’ Choice Award nominations, as well as the HBO series Sharp Objects and USA Network’s The Sinners. More recently, he appeared in Peacock’s comedy thriller Based on a True Story. He also played the villain, Victor Zsasz, alongside Margot Robbie in the 2020 film Birds of Prey.

Psychological dramas often combine established stars with up-and-coming actors. Season 3 of The White Lotus was no different, boasting a cast including Isaacs, Walton Goggins, Michelle Monaghan, Carrie Coon, Sam Rockwell, Natasha Rothwell, Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood, Sam Nivola, and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

The White Lotus Is Heading to France

The show is returning to Europe for its fourth season. Previously, Season 1 was filmed in Hawaii, Season 2 took place in Europe – specifically at a lavish hotel in Taormina, Sicily – and Season 3 moved to Thailand. As reported earlier, Season 4 will once again be set in Europe.

Season 4 will likely maintain the show’s focus on luxury accommodations, but with a new location. After featuring Four Seasons hotels, the next installment will be filmed at the Château de La Messardière, a beautifully renovated 19th-century castle in Saint-Tropez, France, which will be called ‘The White Lotus’ within the show, continuing the series’ naming convention.
