‘The best spin-off to date’

Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride deliver outstanding performances in what many are calling one of the strongest seasons yet in The Walking Dead universe. It’s bigger, bolder, and overall a significant improvement.
Undead Walking
Season three introduces several new actors to the cast, including Óscar Jaenada (known for The Losers and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Hugo Arbues (Past Lies), and Candela Saitta (Maxima). British comedian Stephen Merchant (The Office, Extras) will also make a memorable guest appearance.
I was completely hooked when the episode opened with Daryl and Carol navigating the absolutely wrecked streets of London. They stumble across this fascinating, but clearly troubled, guy named Julian – played brilliantly by Merchant – who’s convinced he’s the very last person left in all of England. Their attempt to escape across the English Channel doesn’t go as planned, though, and things go south fast. It leaves them shipwrecked on the Spanish coast, and suddenly they’re thrown into this whole new, really dangerous world filled with different groups of survivors, religious fanatics, and people with secrets. It’s a total game changer!
Traveling through the devastated lands of post-apocalyptic Spain, Daryl and Carol encounter a struggling community led by the honorable Antonio (Eduardo Noriega, known from Open Your Eyes and The Last Stand) and the strong-willed Paz (Alexandra Masangkay, from The Platform and Code Name: Emperor). While united by their bond, Daryl and Carol are torn by their own inner struggles. They must decide if they should continue their journey home or remain and find meaning in their new surroundings, confronting the ghosts of their past along the way.
Despite being set in the same universe as the original, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 successfully combines intense action with surprising plot twists, strong character interactions, and a visually compelling European setting, demonstrating that this franchise still has a lot to offer.
