With the release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie approaching this April, the marketing is now in full gear. A first look at a special popcorn bucket has appeared online, giving fans a taste of what to expect when the beloved video game character finally arrives on the big screen. The studio is clearly catering to what fans want.
A new Yoshi-themed popcorn bucket is coming to theaters with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, even though it hasn’t been officially announced yet. Pictures show a large bucket shaped like Yoshi holding a green, spotted egg. While it’s unknown how the popcorn will actually fit inside, these collectible buckets are usually more about fun than practicality. It’s sure to be a hit with Yoshi and Super Mario fans! Yoshi is a major draw for the movie, which is based on popular games like Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Odyssey.
The company selling the new popcorn bucket hasn’t been announced yet. We can also expect to see more merchandise, like cups and additional buckets, revealed soon. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie aims to become the highest-grossing video game movie ever, surpassing the $1.3 billion earned by The Super Mario Bros. Movie in 2023. While A Minecraft Movie performed well last year, it didn’t quite reach the billion-dollar milestone.
