16: Michael Williams (Derek Cecil): Although there must be a reason why Dr. McKay’s patient is acting aggressively, we don’t know yet, and his harsh demeanor makes it tough to like him.
15: James Ogilvie (Lucas Iverson): James is a conceited medical student who doesn’t have many likable qualities, at least at this point in The Pitt Season 2.
14: Noelle Hastings (Meta Golding): Robby’s new love interest seems sweet and smart, but she only appears in one brief scene.
13: Joy Kwon (Irene Choi): Medical student Joy, a new The Pitt Season 2 character, seems bored by her training, but will likely get more character development later on in the season.
12: Jackson Davis (Zack Morris): Based on Jackson’s reason for coming to the hospital (poor behavior at a college library), we’re not sure why he’s acting this way, but The Pitt will likely reveal what’s really going on in Season 2, Episode 3.
11: Sister Grace Matthews (Heather Wynters): While it’s easy to sympathize with the kind-hearted nun who got gonorrhea from volunteering and doing laundry, other minor characters on The Pitt make a bigger impression.
10: Dylan (Becca Blackwell): A social worker who does his best to work within the hospital system and clearly has empathy for Kylie, but whom we don’t know very well at this point.
9: Perlah Alawi (Amielynn Abellera): A kind and compassionate nurse who makes Kylie feel more comfortable during her hospital stay, which is important since any child would be scared and nervous.
8: Princess (Kristin Villanueva): As we’ve come to expect, the nurse who cares deeply about her job continues approaching each shift with humor, which adds some necessary lightness here.
7: Emma Nolan (Laëtitia Hollard): A new graduate and nurse whom we feel for because she’s so anxious and nervous about starting her career in medicine (but who we also want to encourage to be more confident).
6: Dr. Caleb Jefferson (Christopher Thornton): In one of the episode’s more emotional scenes, Dr. Jefferson finds a clever way to work around hospital rules and help Evelyn, which speaks to how much he puts patients first.
5: Dr. Yolanda Garcia (Alexandra Metz): Although she appears briefly, Dr. Garcia is still one of the best doctors at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center and is focused on helping patients.
4: Evelyn Bostick (Jayne Taini): It’s impossible not to feel bad for Evelyn, an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s who has a hard time accepting her husband’s death (and who wants to go home and make him Shepherd’s pie).
3: Troy Digby (Charles Baker): It’s also impossible not to have empathy for Troy, an unhoused man whom we see taking a shower (and having his cast removed to reveal maggots). The Pitt asks viewers to approach his story with compassion, and he’s one of the most heartbreaking parts of Season 2, Episode 2.
2: Louie Cloverfield (Ernest Harden Jr): A recurring patient who is an alcoholic, Louie’s cheerful attitude in this episode is heartwarming, and we want him to be okay.
1: Kylie Conners (Annabelle Toomey): As a child whom Dr. Santos thinks could be abused by her father, Kylie is the most likable minor character in The Pitt Season 2 so far, and her storyline is heartbreaking (but there could be more to the story).

‘The Pitt’ Season 2, Episode 2 Main Characters, Ranked by Likability

10: Victoria Javadi (Shabana Azeez): Although she doesn’t have her own storyline in The Pitt Season 2, Episode 2, Victoria shows more confidence when interacting with Dr. Santos, which is great to see after her anxiety and worry in Season 1.
9: Dr. Samira Mohan (Supriya Ganesh): As she treats patients and shares her opinions on how to best help them, Dr. Mohan is caring, smart, and confident in this episode.
8: Dr. Trinity Santos (Isa Briones): While she’s still overly confident, Dr. Santos continues to show concern for Kylie, and proves she’s matured since Season 1.
7: Dr. Cassie McKay (Fiona Dourif): Dr. McKay has shown a lot of growth, and she’s one of the more likable doctors in this episode as she carefully approaches the problem of an aggressive patient.
6: Dr. Frank Langdon (Patrick Ball): Dr. Langdon is vulnerable and sweet in this episode, and he’s a different, more cautious, and quieter doctor than he was at the end of The Pitt Season 1.
5: Dennis Whitaker (Gerran Howell): It’s a joy to watch Whitaker train two medical students and take charge of his medical career, and he’s as charming and endearing as ever.
4: Dr. Mel King (Taylor Dearden): Watching Mel worry about her deposition is heartbreaking, and while it distracts her throughout this hour of her shift, we understand why.

3: Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi)

In Season 2, Episode 2 of The Pitt, we learn a lot about Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi. She has especially interesting conversations with Dr. Robby, and quickly becomes one of the most relatable doctors in the episode. She genuinely cares about her patients and also wants to support her colleagues – the doctors, nurses, interns, and students. We realize she’s focused on improving efficiency when she points out how much time doctors spend on paperwork. We also feel for her when she suggests a quick consult with orthopedics, only to be met with laughter because of the typical delays. Starting a new job and integrating into an established team is clearly a challenge for her.

Following the dramatic events of Season 1 in The Pitt, it’s refreshing to see a new character arrive, particularly Dr. Al-Hashimi, who is ambitious and full of ideas. When she asks Robby for his thoughts, it reveals a more sensitive side to her. She’s eager to have an open discussion with him, but their busy schedules during work haven’t allowed for it yet.

2: Dana Evans (Katherine LaNasa)

Season 2 of The Pitt jumps ahead in time. Ten months have passed since Doug Driscoll attacked Dana, giving her time to come to terms with the event, though it will always affect her. In Episode 2, Dana—already a beloved character on the show—is even more compassionate and willing to help others.

Dana is the person who keeps the hospital functioning well, and she’s doing a great job. Her interactions with Emma, a new nurse who’s overwhelmed by the fast pace and skilled doctors, are particularly strong. While some veteran nurses might be annoyed by Emma’s inexperience, Dana is consistently respectful. She remains the go-to person everyone turns to during any kind of emergency, big or small. It’s obvious that Dana not only teaches others a lot, but genuinely enjoys working with them and excels in her position.

1: Dr. Robby Robinavitch (Noah Wyle)

Though The Pitt features a variety of characters, Dr. Robby truly stands out as the emotional center of the show. He’s especially charming in Season 2, Episode 2, “8:00 A.M.”, where he offers comforting words to Mel during her deposition and playfully researches how to collect a baby’s urine sample. Throughout the episode, he remains dedicated to his roles as both a doctor and a mentor, but he also seems more relaxed and hopeful about his upcoming vacation.

Robby really shines in this episode, effortlessly balancing all his responsibilities. He’s always offering encouragement and support to both patients and colleagues, promising to chat with them when he has a moment – though it’s unclear if he’ll actually follow through. The most powerful scene, however, is when Robby holds the abandoned newborn. He pauses amidst the hospital’s hustle and bustle, and it makes you think about his own desire for a family and a more satisfying life outside of work.
