The Pitt: First Unedited Medical Drama To Air On TNT

After winning several Emmys, The Pitt is preparing to move to a new television network, marking a significant moment in TV history.

TNT has announced that all 15 episodes of season one of The Pitt will air unedited, starting Monday, December 1st at 9 p.m. EST. The show returns after a hiatus of two months, and will kick off with three episodes airing back-to-back each Monday until December 29th. This is a first for television, and TNT is doing it to stay true to the medical drama’s goal of realistically portraying life in an emergency room.

The show will maintain realistic and sometimes graphic depictions of medical scenes, including nudity, to honestly show the intense emotional impact of the job on healthcare workers. TNT will include warnings at the beginning of each episode and before returning from commercial breaks, as the content is usually seen on streaming services or premium channels like HBO.

John Wells, the executive producer of the show, commended TNT for broadcasting The Pitt without edits. He stated in a press release that everyone involved with The Pitt is thrilled that TNT viewers will be able to watch their Emmy-winning series. Meanwhile, Dr. L. Anthony Cirillo, president of the American College of Emergency Physicians, highlighted the show’s continued relevance for emergency medical professionals and the field as a whole.

This show provides a rare and honest look at the human side of emergency medicine and the difficulties of providing care within a flawed system. Emergency physicians across the country are incredibly proud of how the show portrays their work, the challenges they face, and who they are as caregivers. We are deeply grateful to the dedicated cast and crew, particularly the emergency physician members of ACEP who contributed to the writing and production. We’re excited that the show will reach a wider audience, sparking important conversations and driving the need for real improvements to the healthcare system – changes that emergency physicians and their patients desperately need and deserve.
