If you’re looking for a good show on Peacock, definitely check out The Paper, a spin-off of The Office. While the first season was originally available on Peacock last September, it’s now also airing on NBC. It’s fantastic to see this mockumentary style continue, and I’ve quickly become a fan of the new characters, especially Esmeralda. I’m already hoping to see her interact with a character from Abbott Elementary!
Details about Season 2 of The White Lotus are scarce, but viewers are eager for its release after the shocking ending of the first season. I’m especially excited to see more of Esmeralda, the unforgettable character played by Emmy nominee Sabrina Impacciatore. And if I could write one thing into the new season, it would be a meeting between Esmeralda and Ava Coleman from Abbott Elementary – it would be amazing!
I Need Esmeralda To Interact With Principal Ava
The comedy series Abbott Elementary, currently available on Hulu, is a huge hit and considered one of the best shows on television. With its recent crossover episode featuring It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, I think it would be great to see Abbott Elementary team up with The Paper next.
I instantly fell in love with Esmeralda when she showed up in The Paper. She seriously had me cracking up all throughout the first season – her drive to be famous, combined with how hilariously bad she was at her job, was just perfect. Watching her reminded me a lot of Principal Ava from Abbott Elementary – they both have this amazing self-confidence and a really unique way of handling things.

You can watch The Paper exclusively on Peacock, with plans starting at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. For an ad-free experience and the ability to download shows and movies to watch offline, consider upgrading to Peacock Premium or Peacock Premium Plus.
I love Ava from Abbott Elementary – she always makes me laugh with her quick wit and habit of looking at the camera. I think if you combined her personality with Esmeralda’s, you’d either get a duo so fun and confident they’d bring about world peace, or they’d just take over the world! Honestly, either outcome sounds good.
Because Abbott Elementary and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia have already collaborated, I’m really hoping to see Ava and Esmeralda team up. I think their combined energy would be amazing and cause a huge buzz online! I know it’s unlikely, but I’m still keeping my hopes up.

It’s highly unlikely this team-up will ever happen, but the thought of characters from Abbott Elementary and The Paper appearing together is fun to imagine. Since the shows air on different networks—ABC and NBC—and there could be legal issues, it’s a real long shot. Still, I keep picturing Ava and Esmeralda sharing a scene!
You can watch Abbott Elementary on ABC as part of the 2025 TV season, and all episodes of The Paper are now available on Peacock. Hopefully, these two funny shows will find a way to cross over someday!
