Shudder’s horror film, Good Boy, which was a big success in theaters, is now available to stream digitally. The movie first premiered at the 2025 South by Southwest festival and was distributed by IFC in the United States. Good Boy is unique because it’s told entirely from a dog’s point of view, and audiences loved it – it earned $7 million at the box office on a budget of just $750,000! This made it Shudder’s second-highest grossing film, following only Late Night with the Devil.

The film, directed by Ben Leonberg in his first feature film, stars Indy the dog as a devoted companion who joins his owner on a trip to a remote area, where they encounter danger.
As a movie buff, I was really captivated by this film. It’s set in this unsettling, atmospheric place where Indy, the dog, starts sensing something truly sinister is happening to his owner. The whole story revolves around him trying to protect his human, and he’ll risk everything to do it. What I loved is that it’s not your typical horror flick; it’s told from the dog’s perspective, so you experience the danger in a totally unique way. It’s a thrilling, scary, and ultimately heartbreaking movie that really showcases the incredible bond between people and their pets and just how far a dog will go for someone they love.
