The Mandalorian & Grogu’s Villains Officially Confirmed In New Trailer

In the next installment of The Mandalorian and Grogu, Din Djarin and his son, Grogu, will face off against multiple enemies.

Disney has released a new trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, revealing the movie’s villains. It’s been seven years since the last Star Wars film, The Rise of Skywalker, and the franchise is returning to theaters. This new movie features the popular characters from the Disney+ series that launched the streaming service in 2019. With the premiere approaching, creators Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are increasing the film’s promotion.

After a slow start to promoting the movie, including a brief ad during the Super Bowl featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu, Disney and Lucasfilm have now released a second trailer to generate more excitement. This new trailer gives viewers a clearer look at the main character, as well as the friends and enemies they’ll face. Though the exact plot is still a mystery, the movie promises plenty of action as Din and Grogu meet different creatures and get into adventures.

The newest trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu (shared on Star Wars’ Instagram) reveals the enemies Din Djarin and Grogu will encounter. Din describes them as “Gangsters, war criminals, and monsters.” Earlier trailers only mentioned “gangsters and war criminals.” You can watch the trailer here:

It’s an understatement to say Din Djarin and Grogu have been through a lot since The Mandalorian first aired on Disney+. Throughout their adventures, they’ve faced many enemies, but always managed to find help along the way. Now, the series seems to be focusing on them as a team of bounty hunters traveling the galaxy, recently taking a job from Sigourney Weaver’s character, who leads a group called the Adelphi Rangers within the New Republic.

It’s interesting to wonder if The Mandalorian and Grogu will face a villain with a personal reason to oppose them. The trailer suggests their dangerous encounters will stem from their work cleaning up after the fallen Galactic Empire, dealing with remaining Imperial leaders. While that could be a good story arc for Din and Grogu normally, it would be underwhelming for a movie intended to be the epic conclusion to their Star Wars journey. Hopefully, there’s more to the conflict than just work assignments.

There’s a lot riding on the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. Disney and Lucasfilm are eager to relaunch Star Wars films in theaters, and this movie is crucial for setting the right direction after a seven-year break. It’s also the first potential summer blockbuster for the franchise since Solo: A Star Wars Story didn’t perform well in 2018. Hopefully, The Mandalorian and Grogu will be a hit when it’s released on May 22, 2026.
