The Madison: Taylor Sheridan’s Record-Breaking Paramount+ Series Premiere

The show is already doing very well on Paramount+, and it’s quickly becoming the most successful series from Taylor Sheridan so far.

As a huge fan, I was so excited to hear how well the new family drama is doing! The streamer shared that it brought in 8 million viewers worldwide in just the first ten days. That’s amazing – it’s officially the biggest launch of any show Taylor Sheridan’s done for them. They’re using numbers from Luminate right now because Nielsen is having some technical difficulties, but either way, the numbers are fantastic and prove how popular the show is becoming!

The series launched on March 14th and quickly became a hit, marking Sheridan’s strongest debut season with women aged 35 and older – a crucial audience for Paramount+. By March 23rd, it had climbed to the top of Paramount+’s most-watched list, according to FlixPatrol, surpassing South Park, which now ranks second. Following closely behind are shows like Marshals, Yellowstone, De Férias com o Ex: América Latina, Tulsa King, Acaoulco Shore, SpongeBob SquarePants, Landman, and The King of Queens.

From the creator of Yellowstone, The Madison is a departure from typical crime dramas, focusing instead on a moving story about loss and complex family relationships. The first season, consisting of six episodes, centers on the Clyburn family as they trade their busy New York City lives for a quieter existence in Montana. The series stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, Beau Garrett, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Amiah Miller, and Alaina Pollack.

Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions collaborated to create the series, with Taylor Sheridan leading the production as an executive producer. Joining him are executive producers David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, and Keith Cox. Christina Alexandra Voros directed all six episodes of the first season.

Despite breaking viewership records upon its release, the show The Madison has received a somewhat mixed response from both critics and viewers. It currently has a 60% rating from critics and a 73% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the show has already been renewed for a second season, even before the first season premiered! Renewal was confirmed in August 2025, and filming for season two began immediately after season one, largely due to the filming schedule of actor Russell, who was also working on Apple TV+’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters at the time.
