A main actor in Taylor Sheridan’s popular new Western, The Madison, has announced he won’t be back for the show’s second season when it eventually airs.
The first season of The Madison ended on a poignant note, showing Stacy Clyburn (Michelle Pfeiffer) mourning at the graves of her husband, Preston (Kurt Russell), and his brother, Paul (Matthew Fox). The season began with their deaths in a plane crash, and their lives were explored through memories and flashbacks.
Terry Crews has confirmed he’s finished with his role on the show The Madison. He told The Hollywood Reporter that he prefers taking on smaller, interesting projects now, rather than committing to a long-term series like Lost, which he starred in for six years.
When Fox appeared on The Madison, he added even more emotional depth to the show, and his scenes with Russell were among the very best. The actor gave all the credit to Taylor Sheridan, praising the writer as “exceptional.”
Reading the scripts was a powerful experience – they were both emotionally affecting and genuinely funny. He’s an incredibly skilled storyteller, adding layers of meaning beyond just the dialogue. Honestly, I’m amazed by how much he accomplishes. It’s astounding because, unlike many shows with a team of writers, he writes everything himself.
Season 2 of The Madison has finished filming, but Paramount hasn’t announced a release date yet. Similar to the first season, it will have six episodes, likely released in two parts with a week between each part.

Paramount+
Despite mixed reactions from critics, Sheridan’s The Madison has proven very popular on Paramount+, consistently ranking among the platform’s top 10 shows since it premiered. The Season 1 finale propelled it to the number one spot worldwide and in the US, joining other Sheridan series like Marshals, and established hits such as Landman, Tulsa King, and Yellowstone on the list.

Despite a positive audience score of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, critics haven’t responded well to The Madison. They gave it a ‘rotten’ rating of 59%, describing it as inconsistent, slow-paced, and Taylor Sheridan’s least impressive work so far. Viewers, however, have had a much more positive experience, calling the series ‘incredible,’ ‘worth watching,’ and ‘a beautifully emotional show with great acting.’
All six episodes of The Madison Season 1 are now available to stream on Paramount+, featuring Beau Garrett, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Amiah Miller, and Alaina Pollack. We’ll share updates about the series, including when Season 2 will premiere, as soon as we have them.
