Netflix has greenlit a fifth season of The Lincoln Lawyer. The renewal was announced on Wednesday, just before the fourth season premieres next week.
The show, The Lincoln Lawyer, centers around Mickey Haller, a lawyer who works out of his Lincoln Navigator. It follows Haller and his firm as they take on cases in Los Angeles.
Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez, the creators and showrunners of The Lincoln Lawyer, announced the new season will premiere on February 5th. They also shared that they’ve already begun working on Season 5! According to a statement to Netflix’s Tudum, Season 4 will be Mickey Haller’s most difficult and emotionally resonant case yet, and they’re happy to continue the story.
Ted Humphrey worked with David E. Kelly to create the TV series The Lincoln Lawyer. The show is based on a character first introduced by Michael Connelly in his novel The Brass Verdict. Season 5 of The Lincoln Lawyer will have 10 episodes and will be based on Connelly’s seventh book in the series, Resurrection Walk.
The Lincoln Lawyer Will Return For Season 5 on Netflix
The new season will continue the story following the dramatic ending of Season 3. As viewers remember, Mickey was arrested for the murder of his previous client, Sam Scales, and will now have to defend himself in court.
According to Humphrey, the show has evolved significantly. It began as a story about someone trying to recover from a major mistake, then shifted to exploring the consequences of past actions. Now, the character is facing enemies created by his own choices, all working together to ruin him. Season 4 essentially brings the story back to where it started, with the character once again needing to prove himself and make amends.
Humphrey explains that the murder accusation significantly impacts Mickey. He notes that they’re eager to show how this change affects Mickey and plays out in his story.
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo stars in The Lincoln Lawyer, alongside Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson, and Cobie Smulders.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 debuts on Netflix on February 5.
