Apple TV+ has canceled “The Last Frontier” after only one season. The show was dropped just two weeks after its final episode aired, meaning it won’t be getting a second season.
The thriller centers on Frank Remnick, played by Jason Clarke, a solitary U.S. marshal working in the remote Alaskan wilderness. His peaceful territory is disrupted when a plane carrying prisoners crashes, releasing dozens of dangerous inmates. As Remnick tries to protect the town, he starts to believe the crash wasn’t accidental, but part of a larger, destructive plot.
The Apple TV series The Last Frontier premiered on October 10th and concluded on December 5th. It received a somewhat mixed reaction from viewers and critics. Although the show won’t be returning for another season, its creators, Jon Bokenkamp and Richard D’Ovidio, did have some thoughts about potential future storylines. They shared that if a second season had been made, they would have…
According to D’Ovidio, they’ve explored many options for the show’s second season, but they’ve largely run out of storylines set in Alaska. Bokenkamp added that while they’ve considered having the characters end up in a warmer location like a beach, the U.S. Marshals pursue criminals internationally. While Sidney Bennett and Havlock Cooper pose a challenge for Frank, they aren’t his only concerns.
