Brittany Snow, who stars in the Netflix series The Hunting Wives, hints that a significant character will die in season 2. Filming for the new season began on November 17, 2025, with Snow reprising her role as Sophie O’Neil and Malin Akerman returning as Margo Banks. The release date and plot details are still unknown.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the Golden Globe Awards, actress Snow hinted that a character will die in a shocking way during season 2 of The Hunting Wives. She described being incredibly surprised while reading the script, even jumping onto her couch after learning which character wouldn’t survive. However, she’s keeping the identity of the deceased character a secret for now.
I jumped onto the couch! And someone… well, let’s just say something dramatic happened, but I won’t reveal who was involved. It was a really crazy moment, completely unexpected and over the top.
The hit Netflix mystery series isn’t afraid to kill off important characters. The first season ended with shocking deaths: Sophie murdered Kyle and hid his body, and it turned out Callie, not Jill, was the one who killed Abby. Expect even more unexpected deaths and twists in the upcoming second season.
Season 2 will reunite Sophie and Margo as they face a common enemy and uncover past secrets. These events will significantly impact their futures, and according to creator Snow, the season will include a character’s death – possibly someone key to the story.
Currently, filming for season 2 of The Hunting Wives is expected to finish in March. But we don’t know when it will be released on Netflix – it might not be until late 2026. What we do know is that a character will die, adding to the growing mystery surrounding Sophie and Margo.
Season one of The Hunting Wives received positive reviews, blending dramatic personal stories with an intriguing murder mystery. Critics gave it a 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while viewers scored it at 63%. The show quickly became popular on Netflix, appearing in the Top 10 for several weeks and even becoming the most-watched show in the US when it premiered.
Thanks to its many strengths and a pivotal death coming in season 2, The Hunting Wives looks poised for success on Netflix. As the story of Sophie and Margo develops, the show will probably focus on the consequences of the choices they’re making and the damage it will cause.
