The trailer for the fifth and final season of The Boys is here, giving fans their first glimpse at the show’s conclusion. After a cliffhanger ending to season four nearly two years ago, the new trailer kicks off the ultimate battle against Homelander and hints at what’s to come for the characters we’ve followed.
At CCXP in Brazil, where ScreenRant’s Jordan Williams was present for The Boys panel, fans got a sneak peek at the fifth and final season of the hit Prime Video series. The premiere date was also announced: April 8, 2026. You can find details below.
Prime Video has shared a preview of the upcoming season, revealing that it will focus on Homelander and his unpredictable behavior. The story will see Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie held captive in a place called a ‘Freedom Camp’.
Currently, Annie is desperately trying to fight against the incredibly powerful Supes, but Kimiko is missing. However, when Butcher returns with a virus designed to eliminate all Supes, he starts a series of events that will drastically and permanently alter the world. Prime Video promises this is the big finale, with major events unfolding.
The new trailer offers a sneak peek of Jared Padalecki joining season 5 of The Boys, bringing him back together with his Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles. Ackles’ character, Soldier Boy, will be a main character in the final season. The trailer also shows Ashley after the events of season 4, revealing her condition following her injection with Compound V.
At a recent FAN EXPO panel for The Boys, moderated by Joe Deckelmeier from ScreenRant, Karl Urban (who plays Billy Butcher) hinted that multiple characters will die in the show’s final season, and some of these deaths will happen very early on, even in the first episode. The final season will also include actors from the spin-off series Gen V, after the conclusion of its second season.
Season 5 of The Boys will start on April 8, 2026, with the first two episodes available immediately. New episodes will then be released weekly until May 20, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.
