Filming for Season 5 of The Bear started in January 2026, but after several successful seasons, viewers are wondering how much longer the show can realistically continue. Now, an actor who recently appeared on the show has shared some thoughts about its potential future.
Jamie Lee Curtis, who appeared on the show The Bear, shared a photo with co-star Abby Elliott on Instagram, writing “FINISHED STRONG!” She later explained to Access Hollywood that she wasn’t revealing anything new about the show’s future, as it’s already been confirmed to end after its fifth season. She was surprised people focused on her post when the news was already out.
Everyone agrees the show is finishing up, and I’m surprised it’s causing so much fuss. Unless I hear from a lot of people saying I mistakenly told everyone, I believe it was already understood that this was the final season. If that’s not the case, then I really messed up.
Jamie Lee Curtis has become a standout performer on the show, playing Carmy Berzatto’s mother, Donna, since the second season. She won an Emmy Award for her role in Season 2 and received another nomination after Season 3.

Though fans might be sad to see The Bear conclude after five seasons and nearly 50 episodes, the ending feels fitting for those who’ve followed the series. In the Season 4 finale, titled “Goodbye,” Carmy revealed he was selling his share of the restaurant and stepping away. He made this choice to focus on personal growth, and he expressed to Syd that she was the driving force behind the restaurant’s success and that he had more faith in her than in himself.
The show has been widely praised throughout its four seasons, but critical reception has gradually declined. It started with a perfect 100% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes in its first season, but ratings decreased to 99%, 89%, and then 85% in subsequent seasons.

The latest episode hinted that Carmy might take a step back in Season 5, as he’s planning to pursue a new direction outside of the restaurant. Adding to this, the show’s actors are all very busy with other projects: Jeremy Allen White is preparing for the release of The Mandalorian & Grogu, and Ayo Edebiri will continue her role as Ben Grimm/The Thing in upcoming Avengers movies.
The Bear Season 5 is expected to debut on FX and Hulu in 2026.
